I'm new to all this (literally everything ds1 is 2 1/2 weeks old)
Dh went back to work yesterday and I'm really struggling to get anything at all done as Flynn has suddenly decided that he doesn't want to do anything but cry if I'm not right next to him or holding him, before he was born I was given a mothercare two way carrier but wasn't going to use it, out of desperation no be able to do things I thought I'd try it out, he's all clipped in and seems safe but I'm nervous to let go of him, he won't fall out will he? Does it matter that he won't put one of his arms out of the hole? He likes it next to his face.
Biggest question he isn't too young for it? I don't want to damage him just because I want to put the laundry away.
And is it ok to use it just in the house?

Personally I would stay away from the highstreet carriers like these and opt for a nice comfy stretchy wrap. The highstreet carriers just don't seem comfy and there's a lot of word on the block that they are bad for baby's hips and spine

No he won't fall out, but if you're nervous it might help to hold on to him with one hand for a few minutes until you're more confident. I don't think it will matter too much about his arm, just make sure that the carrier is nice and high up so that you can kiss the top of his head easily. That carrier says it can be used from birth so as long as he's not preemie or really small then he should be fine. Enjoy wearing your baby. :)

He weighs 8lb2 at the mo, he seems happy and comfortable, and I've managed to sort all the clothes out in his nursery instead of just grabbing clothes and dumping the clean ones anywhere.
I'm just fretting really daddy only just started back at work and I'm paranoid I'll do something wrong when I'm alone. I suppose most mummy's have the same worries.

You're doing brilliantly hon, enjoy your snuggles xx

Feeling overwhelmed is totally normal!!! After the first week on my own I actually settled into a good routine - once dad is back at work and baby knows it's mainly you two, and you know that too I think you start to realise what you can leave for later and what you need to keep on top of, and also when you can just chill and spend baby time!

Not sure on that particular carrier, but I'm sure it would do just fine for now and then. If you really enjoy/need babycarrying then a stretchy one would support his head a lot more :)

p.s. you will do little things wrong but guess what? Baby doesn't know or care!!!!!!! xxx
