Back from early scan.....

And it was all fantastic!!

So relieved! My dates were spot on so 8 weeks 6 days today!

Bubs had a really strong heartbeat and MW said everything looked great! He did a little wriggle for us on the screen - sooo cute!

We got two pictures which I'll try and post later.

On Cloud 9 now - can't believe how much I have worried up to this point. sonogrpaher said brown spotting is perfectly normal and is due to hormonal fluctuations so it's not always bad news!

She also said period type cramps are a good sign that all is growing and stretching as it should be so not all pain is bad but deffo get checked out -it's just not worth the worrying.

I have my 12 week scan in 3 weeks so not long til I see bubs again!!

Can I ask how did you get an early scan?

I assumed if you had an early one you would not have the 12 wk one as well?

Dougal - I got an early scan by being referred through my doctor to the EPU as I had been having bad cramps and light spotting so they referred me for a scan to check everything was OK.

You do still get 12 week scan if you have early one because at 12 weeks they check the baby's bone structure etc which they can't do before 12 weeks.

Congratulations thats great news I know how you feel it's an amazing experience to see that little heartbeat when you've had pain and spotting I had an early scan at 6 weeks when we saw our little one's heartbeat it was just amazing. I'm so please for you it's great news. I've got my 12 week scan next week and so can't wait all though a little nervous but think thats probably normal.
