Hi,

I have been getting a backache .......well sort of stitch/ pain in my back on the right side - just below where bra sits. It only tends to happen at night when I get home from work, and goes away if I lie down completely, or lean to one side.

Has anyone else had this? just wanted to check this was normal?

Many thanks x

Yeah I get that sometimes, I think it might be nerve related like when the baby lies a certain way and it affects the nerve. It goes away after a while it's nothin to be concerned about. It might even be cos stuff is moving it's way down in there so it's pullin on things I dunno xx

Thanks for that I<3paul - as this is my first, I really dont have a clue what is normal, but its strange that I only feel it in the evenings? I sit down all day at work, and do feel anyback or side pain. x

It might be cos you're doing stuff at work whereas when you're sat at home you're not really doing anything but maybe watching tele so you're more likely to notice it or it could be like the strain of carrying the bump round all day and then when you get home your back is like erm ow! I just know iv had it both times and it's not anything worrying xx

Yes!! Me too. According to one of my books it is rib pain (i thought it was my back too...) but it even said that it is more likely to be on the right hand side. I find it get it if i sit in a wooden chair (cafe etc) and sometimes just get it randlomy at night. I HATE it!!!! Nothing seems to soothe it.

Morning - yes I've had this constantly since about 28 weeks. Apparnetly its to do with how the baby chooses to lie. Mine sits with its bum up under my right ribs and pushes the lower rib out of alignement. My MW was going to ref me to some physio, but that doesnt seem to have happened..!
Its always worse in the evenings. Sometimes if its awful I lie down and take a paracetamol which does help.
But I dont think its anything awful if that helps! xxx
