Ok so I dont have to go back to work for another 3 months but I've just started to think about my little chap starting nursery. We've got one sorted but I have no idea weather its any good and i'm so worried he won't like it.

What happens when they start nursey? He will be going in for 2 days a week.
Do they have trial days before they actually start? I know it probably differs from place to place but i'd love to have some sort of idea.

Thanks all.

Most nurseries have a settling in period. Time varies - mine only did an hour a day.

Have a look round a few before making your decision. You'll get a feel for what you want from them.

Have they offered you a viewing? They should really do that first and then go from there.

If you like it they'll arrange a few settling in session before LO is due to start :)

Our nursery first arranged a home visit for the main carer to meet my daughter and discuss her timetable, any routine, our preferences with food, sleeping, play, etc. Then we went to the nursery sessions as many as we wanted together for 1-2 hours. Then I left my daughter by herself for 2 hours for a couple of sessions (free), so that she got used to the nursery and staff. Our nursery is also very parent-friendly, so we can go anytime there and spend as much time as we want. I used to go a lotas was breastfeeding, but now she is 10+ months, it's best not to, because if I come at lunch, she thinks I am there to pick her up to go home, and may get upset when I don't. I am sure your little man will love it. There are so many distractions and activities, he will not remember mummy until you come to pick him up :)
