I found out I was pregnant Monday and ever since I have been having serious AF type cramps! In the last couple of days they are less frequent but really quite painful like the type of ache you get before diaorheaa  tmi i know but lol! Also feel like a kinda stretching pain. By looking at some forums seems like cramps are normal but mine seem a bit worse than standard cramps  . Anyhow, got docs Mon just wondered if anyone could elaborate as its my 1st ever pregnancy. xx

When i first found out i was pregnant my IBS went into overdrive then settled it keeps flaring up now and again i think its due to all the extra hormones slowing down digestion and stretching pains are perfectly normal not sure if i helped much but hope your problem settles soon x

Hi Chloe,

I heard that cramps are normal and I have been getting mild cramps the last few days, especially today (and I only just got my BFP today).

I keep waking with strong cramps like you describe early in the morning though. If you find out what it is and if we should be concerned let me know  Oh, and my bad cramps normally come after having a wee that was difficult to get out.

I still get cramps now and then at 10 weeks. Remember, your body is adjusting to a new life growing inside it. My GP said only start to worry if the cramps are consistant and painful and you are bleeding or spotting. Congrats and a happy and healthy 9 months!

hey hon - when I was about 4/5 weeks along (also before I got BFP) I had horrendous cramps that woke me up and had me groaning in the night with pain.. I've had cramps on and off throughout though they did ease off dramatically around 6 weeks. I wouldn't worry about it, its just your uterus stretching or possibly could be bowel cramps.
Hope this helps x

I was exactly the same as Lilly at 4-5 weeks, absolutely doubled over with cramps a couple of times a day, and waking me up the night. It wasn't pleasant, and I was worried, but there was no bleeding and they subsided pretty much completely by 6-7 weeks, and now I just get the occasional very dull ache. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry, I'm sure it's just all the changes going on down there. :)

Thanks everyone for you're advice :)) can imagine its a worrying time overall good luck to you all! xxx

my cramps r worst this time (3rd) and dihorea bad too but its normal dont worry too much itl slow down soon.

Besides just the normal stretching pain, if they're sharp, they may also be pains from pulling ligaments since they're loose. I've been having this - it hurts to walk on one side sometimes from the pulled ligaments. I know it's not anything else, because it's on my left side, which is void of an ovary/tube/etc.
