I'm really worried and can't find much about this on google - Yesterday at work there were some sandwiches left from what I thought the day before and other co-workers munching away too. After I ate a triangle of ham and mayo - I thought it tasted awful and had a really bad vinegar taste. So later that day another co-worker also mentioned it and we discovered they had actually been in the fridge from Monday. So I had eaten sandwiches - made probably on Sunday and lying in fridge from Monday. Felt a bit icky last night and this am but my sickness has returned past few weeks too. If this was harming baby would I be sick too? or could it just harm baby without me knowing.....

P.S. I'm 27 weeks with rainbow baby and have been trying to keep really calm up until now.

Any help appreciated - thanks xxxx

I think the only way it would harm baby is if you get food poisoning it. When I had food poisoning I was really poorly and couldn't even keep sips of water down, I had to be admitted to hospital for iv fluids. I think you should be ok if you only had one triangle but if you are worried give your midwife a call xx

food poisoning won't cross the placenta. The biggest risk from it is dehydration which you'd need to combat pretty heavily if you came down with a case of FP. Usually your OB and doctors at an ER will hit you with anti-nausea meds and put you on fluids right away if you go in complaining of food poisoning or related symptoms and are pregnant.

Also, ham and mayo sitting in a fridge for a week shouldn't go bad, especially if they're cold cuts. Preservatives in them keep them for a looooong time.
