bbt experts, help!

this is for my friend that is not on bnb.......

she has a consistent 97.8 bbt since she got her af until today cd 19. she got on opk test a smiley face cd 15 then cont testing on the opk that just shows lines cd 16 and cd 17 and it was two strong line but now lighter.

did she ovulate? what is going on with her temp?

Its normal to have dips and increases in temp at any part in ur cycle. In the lp it can mean anything from implantation dip to a secondary estrogen surge. A new bbt wouldn't necessarily hurt.

well thank you ladies, i will advice her on getting a new temp if it stays the same all the way until af or who knows she might already be pregnant, which is even better.


anyone else have more suggestions.

Yeah a new thermo would be good make sure its a basal one , Also I found vaginal temps more reliable and stable for me GL to her

Is she taking her temps before she gets out of bed? If those temps are accurate, and she didn't move around or get up before temping I would say I don't see a temp shift showing ovulation.

hello everyone, thank you so much for your input on this. so her temp shifted today and ff showed the crosshairs and according to that she ovulated on cd17. what we have learned is that even if an opk test shows positive surge the bbt doesn't need to show the temp shift right away, it can actually take up to 5 days past the positive opk test. this was news to me but in her case it showed to be true.

thank you and good luck ttc, i will be joining you all in 2 months time. we will be trying for baby number 2. i can't wait.
