Hello ladies,
My daughter had her BCG vaccine in June, and was doing great with it up until a few days ago..
All of a sudden it became very nasty looking, very large and a lump like a golf ball underneath. ( I can add a pic tomorrow )
Anyway, most of my friend's babies have had this jab and I could see it didn't look 'normal' so I took her to the doc this morning and he said he thinks it could be a bacterial infection at the site of the jab.
He's given a week's worth of antibiotics, and if this doesn't help or it continues to grow, it means it's not an infection and just a really bad reaction to the vaccine.
Has anyone had anything similar to this? It really looks quite bad and I'm panicking!!
On another note, the antibiotic he gave is 4 times a day (6 hours apart) on an empty stomach or 1 hour before food.
How the heck do I do this if she sleeps 7-7. Do I wake her? Also, she is 8 months old so eats a lot and does not often have an 'empty stomach'!!!
I'm so confused and worried.
Thanks for any advice
