Hi ladies to those of you who have cotbeds i was just wondering what bed rails/guards you bought and where you got them from. Charlie is 16 months and im decorating his bedroom. In a few months time im sure i will be taking the sides off his cot so im just wondering which guard to get. Ive read that some of them dont fit cotbeds only single beds to im a bit confused.

thanks :hugs:

We have this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B001I26RJC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1411652928&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40

It's been on LOs bed for 6 months now and has withstood some serious bashing in that time!

It does fit a cotbed but I didn't use the straps, instead I've cable tied it to the slats of his bed as he pulled it off within an hour of being on his bed!

We bought the small one from IKEA. It fastens to the edge of the bed rather than going on the mattress x

We had a lindam one. The guard could be folded down for when you want to sit on the bed (to read a book etc). It was also easy to take apart for use on holidays.

I had a tomy one from argos. Tbh I wish I hadn't of bothered! I took it off within a month and placed a duvet on the floor for a few nights. He has only fallen out once!

I wait till you absolutely have to to move over to the cotbed - they are harder to keep in bed once they are in a cotbed! I changed DD over to the cotbed around 2 because she started climbing out - She fell out the first couple of nights and then got used to it.

I have a foam wedge bed guard, I find them brilliant and they don't move around. Great for taking on holiday! x

I put some pillows on the floor and rolled up a towel and tucked it under the edge of the sheet.

The aim wedge, great British bed bumper is fab! My ds went over at 15 mo as he hate the sides (he has some additional needs and hates restriction)

I also think Lindam rail is great mines has taking some bashing and has worked every time lol!

This doesn't really answer your question, but we didn't bother with the bed rails. Our daughter moved to her toddler bed at 18 months and we just put a smaller cot mattress (from the cot we had in our room) on the floor next to her for about a week or two. Duvet or some pillows would work just as well. She was fine. She's actually only fallen out twice (in 2 months) but was fine, she got right back up in bed when I came in and went back to sleep. I think at most we might have used the bed rails for a month, but then taken them off, so would have been a waste of money. They work it out for themselves. Also, don't be scared about making the switch. It was really easy and she took to her new bed so well. She loves it and it really is her space now because she can get in and out and put her toys in to play if she wants. I think her sleep has only gotten better now that she has her bed.

We used a bed bumper- brilliant! I felt she would have climbed over the bed guards......
