Elliot currently goes to bed at 7pm - 6.30am (ish)

I am due back at work in 12 weeks and I start at 7am, so E is going to have to be up at 6am to have his bottle and to get him ready to go to his grandparents on the way to work.

So I was saying to OH that I think its a good idea that we start trying to put him to bed earlier?

I was thinking 6pm or half 6, because I thought I had read somewhere babies should have 12 hours sleep?

Do you think thats too early?

I just dont want to have to wake him every morning to take him to his grandparents I would rather he woke himself at 6am and the only way I can think of doing that is to move his bedtime to earlier?

You could try to have him in bed by 6pm and see how it goes. May mean you have to shuffle his routine around but you have 12 weeks to get it sorted. Good luck x

i agree, try and move his bedtime earlier by 15 mins a week , that will still get plenty of time to adjust

its not too early either, Kane goes to bed at 6pm too x

I have this problem too, I tried moving Erin's and Patrick's bedtime earlier but Erin would just talk and play in her cot. It also meant we had to try and change feed and nap times in the day. It didn't work very well for us, so they go to bed at 7.30 and then I wake them up at 7.00. It has never bothered them being woken up.

i would say just gradually bring back his bedtime to around 6, and even of he doesnt wake himself up around 6am, he's still had plenty of sleep and shouldnt be too cranky! good luck :) x

Gabriel sleeps 9:30-6:30. No way he'll ever sleep 12 hours.

to be honest I would leave it 12 weeks is a long time for a baby and they will change a lot I would try the 15 min a week idea but only a few weeks before - good luck :)

Not sure where your based, but if your in the uk as the clocks go back at the end of October then effectivley your lo would be able to go to bed an hour earlier without you having to change anything.

Not sure if that helps or not, but woth a thought
