I've been so wrapped up in being a mummy it's a little late ...
I gave birth to my baby boy (yellow bump) Sunday 11th September at 4.07am, weighing in at a whopping 10lb3oz
We named him Bertie which wasn't even discussed before hand, DH grandad was called Albert so his side of the family are chuffed.
I was booked for a home birth but after about 22 hours and having only got to 4cm the midwife decided I wasn't in active labour advised me to take co codamol and go to bed to sleep and that if I started contracting regularly for one minute, two minutes apart for more than an hour rather than getting gaps and having 2 contractions together and shooting pains from baby turning to phone and she's be 40 mins.
I couldn't use the pool as the midwife had gone although whilst I was in it it was bliss so I spent a long time in the shower with it on my back.
My waters broke with a gush and I felt babies head hit my cervix and that's when I decided I wanted to go to hospital for something to help me sleep.
It took ages to get the car packed and another load of waters went as I was getting in the car so I had to get changed.
Once we got to the hospital it was 10 mins before I was seen but as soon as I was examined they said I was 10cm and not to push til we got to a delivery room.
I was bleeding so I had to be on a monitor and be on my back/sitting to push which was uncomfortable but 15 mins later I had him in my arms.
No stitches and only a small graze and I feel totally fine down there now.
We were discharged after 2.5 hours so I didn't have to go on a ward
I am managing to breastfeed and we've only had a few small problems which have been fixed now we have the latch sorted.
Here are some pics...
