Hi ladies,
Hope you don't mind me popping in, thought you'd be the best to help me. Does anyone have any recommendations for muslins? I've heard they are useful and want to get some, but I've read a few reviews on websites and mostly they don't seem to rate highly due to size or quality etc. Just wondered if anyone had stumbled across good ones

Thanks ever so much xxx

I havent had problems with any of mine. THey are primarily ASda / Tesco / Boots ones xx

I got ours from Boots and they've been really good - I've used them for wiping Fran after her milk or food, mopping spills up, mopping wee up when she's widdled after moving the nappy away :)haha:), tied around her neck as an emergency bib when I've forgotten a proper one...... They wash and reuse very well. I got 2 packs of 6 and never needed to buy any more yet.

we dont mind you popping in at all =)

well alfie is obsessed with muslins, he has them as a comforter instead of a blanket. To be honest there all pretty much the same everywere, depends what patterns and things you want. Tesco do some lovely blue and white ones with animals and polka dots on, mothercare do some really bright coloured ones, red, yellow, blue, orange etc..There also pretty much the same size hun.
I would say though to wash them before giving to LO as they come really hard and rough out of the packet. Softner makes them really soft and cuddly. Also another tip when alfie was newborn id sleep with one under my top at night so it would get my scent on it and it really helped settle him.

i normaly buy asda but my mum got me some from tescos and they are much better quality

Don't get Mammas & Pappas ones! They're expensive & teeny weeny. They hardly even go over your shoulder! The best ones we have are from Asda. Nice & big & they do coloured packs too.

thanks so much for your advice ladies!!! great tip on sleeping with a muslin to get your scent on it, i shall remember that one :D

i shall definitely check out tesco, asda, boots and mothercare now x

I know you asked for UK girls, but here in the US, most people end up preferring cloth diapers (pre-fold) for this. They are so absorbant :)

Also, one of my favorites are these:

They are a nice size and have snaps and are shaped in a way that you can just pop it on as a bib when you need one :) They are spendy though.

My most favourite ones are from eBay and are made by Junior joy.... nice and big and absorbent and won't break the bank xxx

I like Sainsburys ones! Not so keen on Babies R Us. x

I have a pack of 20 from mothercare which are good quality and not very expensive. I also have a 3 pack from Ikea, they're bigger and thicker with lovely patterns and I use them as a cover for feeding when I'm out and about

thanks so much all :D

good to get real insight from those who have used them!!! x

We bought mothercare ones in a bulk pack before she was born, then we needed more quickly as she was a reflux baby. We got some from sainsburys and they were much softer - suddenly the mothercare ones seemed rough. We went back and got loads more sainsburys ones and demoted the mothercare ones to the bottom of the pile lol!

We also picked up some pink/patterned ones from Tesco which are also quite nice. The sainsburys and Tesco ones don't seem much when you get them out of the packet, I was dubious at first, but after a wash they go lovely and soft. They've lasted nearly 6 months so far and still going strong.

I have bought them from Mothercare, Tesco and Sainsburies. The best from those stores i found to be Sainsburies and MOthercare the worst. MC were the most expensive and hard and scratchy as hell.

Sainsburies have a third off babies essentials at the moment. Until 28th Sept. So you can pick up a five pack for £3.50!

IKEA sell some funky ones too which seem really hard until you wash them in softner but then they are nice :) I agree with Sainsburys though, theirs are really nice too :)

Hi, i got a pack of 6 from Sainsburys, think they were £6
They are nice and soft and wash well. 3 cream and 3 white.
Also quite big so they are great for mopping sick etc up. I use one to put under my breast when feeding as the little one likes to make a mess!!

I have john lewis and mothercare ones which are great and recently got some from Ikea which are the best ever they are huge and really good quality

I love them and always seem to have one about my person.

Mama and Papas ones are tiny and far too expensive, the ones from Boots and Tescos are fine

We have lots of different ones (IKEA, Tesco, Asda and some character ones we were given as a gift) and the IKEA ones are my favorites by far! They are quite luxurious compared to all the others and not that pricey if I recall correctly.
