I'm putting this here because I think this is where i'll get more answers hehe :flower: I'm thinking of getting Arf a play kitchen for his 2nd birthday in February and I've kinda fallen in love with this one from Ikea https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S49874533 but if anyone can highly recommend another for me to have a look at I'd be very grateful  Also, is 2 an ok age for this do you reckon? He seems to love it at playgroup and nursery  xx

Ha!
We're getting our boys the same one!
Same thing: they can't be torn away from it in the store or anywhere else they see it. And the Duktig line of pots and pans, kitchen accessories, etc is affordable and sturdy, too. They have soft cloth food in store here, too.
I have seen some really stunning handmade wooden playkitchens that I would love, but at twice the price, that's just not happening.
This one is simple, fun, and gender neutral.

I think a kitchen is ok for a 2yr old. We're getting one for LO but the one I ordered I'm not sure I like it now

We've got Harrie this one

2 is a fine age, she will be 23 months at xmas. there is already a kitchen at her Nana's which she loves playing with so hopefully this will be a big hit :)

we are getting the girls the ikea one too :) its fab, so sturdy with lots of great added accesories you can buy. Lucie loved it last time we were at ikea ;-)

i have a little tikes one, its kitchen one side and a bbq and bench the other! Maizie loves it! i got it for her when she was 1 (as moving into a new house wasnt sure i could afford it after) and she loves it! plays with it most days...

i think kitchens are great gifts for boys and girls xx

I bought Kane one from B&M for £15 has pots and pans, food etc. I didn't want to pay £100+ then for him not to be interested so see how he goes with this one

I do love the wooden little tikes one!

ETA - This is the one I got https://www.worldwideshoppingmall.co.uk/toys/smoby-my-1st-kitchen.asp

I love the look of the wooden little tikes one too, though cant find anywhere that stocks it to see it :(

Wow, I love that one but I can't afford £200!! :hissy:

don't get me wrong... its great for a basic kitchen, but as they get bigger (bairing in mind, most play kitchens are for children up to 6 yo) you may find it isn't big enough for them both to stand at it, at the sametime.
which was why we went for a bigger one (also... we wanted one to match our playroom furniture!).
having said that, we knew, at the time of purchase, that we were expecting baby #3 so it made more sense to buy a large handmade wooden kicthen elsewhere.
I LOVE IKEA! all of our furniture is from there, you can't fault them and this was originally our FIRST CHOICE.
but for this (important) purchase, i just didn't see it meeting all the criteria (that i had in mind), i have to think sensibly for the future to save money in the longrun (living on a budget) and i just couldn't see the IKEA kitchen lasting up to 8 years with 4 children rough housing it everyday!!! LOL.

but if i was in your situation i would have gone for this kitchen, it will definately do for your two boys i am sure. :)
also, i am purchasing the DUKTIG utensils and a pack of the IKEA glasses from the childrens role play section to go with their kitchen.
the look awesome, i am hoping they will be in stock for when i go in October, though i am not getting my hopes up. :( my local IKEA store is badly stocked and it puts me off of going! especially when i have to catch the train to get there with my 2 toddlers :/

I think the Ikea one seems to be the best for money and looks. I'm not a fan of brightly colored ones and I wanted a wooden one. We were going to get this but ended up just getting all the accessories.. he can cook on a chair :) we really just don't have room :(

the quality of it is very good, better than i though and for that price, it was better value for money. :happydance:
because of it being painted the way it is, its wipe clean.
i have only put the microwave together as its very big and currently being stored under our bed :dohh:
but yes... very pleased with it xxxxx

we have also bought a few wooden food toys from the same company and they're very well made too. xxxxx
