I figured mothers of little tiny babies could answer this the best. What are the best socks for newborn babies? Which ones are the ones that stay on?

Sorry no help, mine was born 5lbs and none of his socks would stay on for about 2 or 3 weeks.

I never felt the need to bother with socks. Sorry not helpful. Don't they all fall off anyway?

Well, since baby will be here in March when there is still snow on the ground, I think I'll need socks... right?

I foind John Lewis socks are smaller than average and they stay on quite well.
However, with winter coming up, I am going to be putting Daniel in tights. no-one will know under his trousers.

Iv yet to find socks that stay on...my little girl wears tights. If the weather is going to be cold i would suggest putting LO in an all in one/sleepsuit to keep them warm and cosy - therefore socks wont be needed and you wont have the mither of putting them back on every 2 minutes!!!

My baby was born in march and rarely wears socks

Its best if they dont have anything on their feet unless they are outisde of course lol, even when he went outside when there was snow, he had a babygro on and a all in one pramsuit so didnt need them, its only now I actually dress him in clothes other than a babygro that he needs them when we go out

He doesnt wear anything on his feet in the house, and when we go out I think the bext ones were mothercare ones, but he has big feet so that prob doesnt help

my baby was born 5lb 12oz but has quite big feet lol. Gap socks worked for us, failing that get some 'sock ons' i love them x

The best sock I had for Ellie when she was tiny, was from Tesco they were brill just plain white ones but they really stayed on all day  People used to ask me where I got them from as they never found any that could stay on, they have since bought these and have been happy!! :)

I bought some from Mothercare, the low birth weight ones (I think they were labelled early baby) plain white/ribbed material.. they fit Leo all the way from 3lbs and still fit him now. They rarely fall off (only a couple of times in his moses basket when he's having a BIG wriggle lol)

I was going to suggest those! My LO had them when he was newborn and they were fab, and like £1.75 for 3 pairs or something lol :)

next socks are great but not the ones that fold over just the plain socks

i also but my eldest in tights in winter under is trousers, kept him nice and warm, just plain black or navy though i wasnt mean enough to give him pink flowery ones lol

x

i use any socks but put sock ons over them they are amazing wish id have known about them with my last 2 :-/

Socks dont stay on babies. They have magic sock removal abilities!

Buy 'sock ons' lots of them they are amazing!

I got the tiniest of socks from a small baby shop, wasn't a big name store, but they were brilliant so tiny that they stayed on the feet and fit for ages, maybe try any small independent baby shops?? Xx

I love socks (or anything) from the GAP.
Also booties tend to stay on nicely.

Baby gap..

But as a newborn your lo will probably be in a sleepsuit most of the time so won't really need socks.

My LO was a feb baby and it was snowing like crazy on her birthday, and for a week or so after.

I always used tights on her, even under trousers and she was always lovely and warm.

I also brought Sock-ons, they are great but a bit tight on her now. Next socks worked well for us, but now I'm finding Asda one's are great.

My baby was 4lb 9oz and all socks fell off till I found H&M ones size 0-0, they were still baggy on her but stayed on, she's 8lbs now (newborn size) and they fit much better x
