bf trouble and expressing muddle

hi girlies

bit of advice needed please

have been breastfeeding from day 1. though have always ff one bottle at bed time. had a week or so of hectiness 3 weeks ago and had to ff couple of times a day but still bf 2-3 times daily, but were short and sweet. now exclusively bf, shes 8 weeks and i dont get any leakage to pads this normal?? also had problems as she screams place down when feeding atleat for her day feeds and by night is so hungry she feeds like a pro, im wondering if its cos i havnt got a very good supply.ive upped fluids and balanced my diet well. can see ilk when shes feeding but not round the lips or not leaking down when she pulls off????? help lol

ive got myself a hand held tomee tippee pump, using for 2nd day now. didnt get on with it with my other kids, and ended up kicking bf and going ff. dont want to do that this time if helped. though have seen health visitor and she suggested expressing, otherwise may need ff her weight gain not great and have to get her checked weekly. i manage to get just under half an ounce but it doesnt seem to go more than that, i end up giving up by 10-15 mins as i dont see it going ne where, nor can i visibly see the milk flowing like ive been told it will. jst some tips or hints would be fab

Leaking doesnt necessarily mean a better supply. I havent leaked at all to speak of.

Have you read the recent info about weight gain in BF babies? If you look at the sticky at the top of this section about WHO Weight Charts you'll find an article from The Times towards the end which may reassure

yeah, i think she's healthy and more than happy with that, but were talking an oz in 2 weeks, its very slow gain at mo, but shes happy and healthy, i think. its the expressing im getting in a fuddle with.. i was advised to gradually build upto half an hour expressing and to insure i drain breast, though im getting that half ounce in 5 mins or so then nothing, so trying to which to expressing only proving fustrating.

I've got 2 pumps - Avent ISIS and a Tomme Tippee. I find the Tomme Tippee hard work and don't get as much out of it as I do from the Avent when I use them both at the same time.
