BFN turns into BFP later?

I was wondering if any of you have experienced this:

I took 2 EPTs and both were BFN; however, I looked at them several hours later and there were very faint lines, making them + signs.

I have read conflicting things, and I know you aren't supposed to count results after ten minutes but ... I am 11 days late now.

Should I hope?

(Awaiting blood test - quant. - but won't know until Thursday)

As far as I've heard, you shouldn't read negative results after 10 minutes because the positive is only an evap line (it creates a line when the urine starts to evap line). As long as during the first ten minutes the area where the positive should be is completely clear and white, it's still a negative Sorry! Babydust it you!

That's what I've heard, too, but I also have heard people say that they got a darker BFP a week later ... aaargh!

Just hoping that blood test comes back soon! And baby dust to you, too!

You are probably pg as there would not be an evap line that quickly.

This happened to me on my first pg (resulted in mc), I tested on 11dpo and was no line. I looked at it about 6 hours later and I could see a tiny bit of colour where the test line would be.
Next day I tried early morning urine and it took about 30 mins for a faint line to show up.
2 days later - massive BFP.

Evap lines are grey or almost transparent - I've had one of these aswell and I wasn't pregnant.

As long as there is colour to it, no matter how faint, you are prob pg.

I would probably say it was an evap line that many hours later. Especially if it was a blue dye test as those are notorious for evaps. That being said, I would still keep testing until you get your blood results back or until AF shows up just in case. Good luck!!

I bought a cheapie $1 test at dollar store because I just can't wait until my doctor calls me tomorrow.

BFN.

So that leaves me 12 days late, NOT pregnant, and leaves the question: What's wrong with me NOW?

It's not stupid to be hopeful or want to know what is going on with your body!

When I took my digital test the BFP showed up in about 30 seconds. I went out to get a cheapie test to make sure there was agreement between brands and the positive line was so faint that I assumed it was negative and got worried. I had an appointment about a week later and my doctor said I am abosolutely pregnant (phew!).

You could be late if you have been stressed (which is so cruel for people TTC), have gained/lost weight, or for other medical reasons. I lost my period for 11 months in college and nobody could really offer an explanation. Turned out I was stressed from college. I didn't realize that it could have such an impact on my body for so long. This could also just be a wonky cycle for you.

So moral of the story-just because those tests are negative doesn't mean that you aren't pregnant! You just might not be producing enough of the hormone that the tests measure. My doc said that the at home tests are designed so that they almost NEVER give a false positive and therefore need a ton of hormone to detect.

No, Floating, I haven't been BBT since I got my Ovacue fertility monitor. But if I end up getting AF and going on the Clomid, I'll probably start again.

When did you start using the Ovacue? I don't find too many ladies on here that use it. Most use the CBFM. How do you like it? I really like mine.

Must have been evap line.

Blood work was negative. No AF for 2 weeks, so they are putting me on Provera to induce it. Yay.
