I am 31 and my DH is 31. We have been TTC for 18 months. When we hit the 1 year mark, we decided to do some testing. My periods were very irregular (anywhere from 18 days to 64 days in the last 18 months). Day 3 and Day 21 tests came back perfect. I had an ultrasound to check my anatomy and to make sure everything is in the right place. I was told I have an ovarian cyst and thats why my periods are so irregular. We also did a semen analysis. Everything came back perfect but the sperm count. My doctor told me that a sperm count of 40 million per millimeter is too low and that I will not be able to get pregnant naturally . The only option that he gave me was in vitro fertilization. No other option was for me on the table at that point. He told me that Clomid didnt make sense in my case. I left the office crying and when I got home I started researching sperm count. The World Health Organization recognizes that a normal sperm count is over 20 million per millimeter (and my DH had 40 million- it didnt make sense). I started questioning my doctors opinion that I will never get pregnant naturally. However, I was still upset and depressed. Two days later (DPO 7), I had this strange feeling and I decided to do a pregnancy test. BFP!!!!! So happy!!!!! I am 7 weeks pregnant now and I just saw the babys heartbeat. Of course I changed doctors.
My advice is never to lose hope. Once you see the BFP, nothing else will matter. It will not matter that it took so long to get there.
Use OPKs. And use the good ones. I was using the cheap kind and I dont think I was reading them right. The lines are hard to interpret sometimes. Especially, that one month I ovulated on CD 43. I started using the digital ones. I got pregnant in my third cycle since using the digital ovulation kits (3 cycles was actually 6 months for me). Once I saw the positive OPK, we BD 5 days in a row. It woooorked.
About 6 weeks before becoming pregnant, I decided to be healthier. I started going to the gym 3 times a week. I ate more vegetables and fruits. I gave up coffee completely. No more alcohol drinking also.
Baby dust to everyone!!!!! Never give up hope! It will happen to you
