BFP but Scared blood tests will be negative.

Hi Girls,

Because of my history of mc I am having blood tests every 48 hours.
My 1st blood test is tonight, I will get another on Friday and Monday and carry on till they get high enough for me to go for a scan.

I am scared the blood test will be negative, even though I have had a few bfp on urine tests.

Anyone else felt like this before their blood results?

No, I've never felt like that before. If your HPT is + then the HCG blood test will be positive too. Blood tests are more sensitive than urine tests.

I agree, the blood test is testing exactly the same thing as the urine test. If it is in your urine it will most definitely be in your blood!

aww thanks girls. I think I am so paranoid as last month I got a on day period was due (urine) and also on the day after on the doctors urine sample. BUT I bleed alot on the sat morning and went for emergency bloods and they were -ve!

I can totally relate to what you are going through, i have a history of recurrent m/c's so this time around my hcg's were taken at 3+5wks, 4+1wks, 4+4wks (every 72 hours) then a week later and again a week later until around 7 weeks, i then had a scan at 8 weeks which was amazing!! I was so scared each time my blood was taken that they wouldnt have doubled or would have gone down and i got myself into a right old tizwaz each time!!! I was really lucky as i had my bloods taken at 9.30am each time and by 3pm the nurse would ring me with my results....but between 9.30 and 3pm i was a nervous wreck!!! LOL!! so i know exactly how you will be feeling!!! Im sure everything is going to be fine chick and i have everything crossed for you xxxxx dont worry about your initial hcg number its the doubling hours that counts right now......sending you lotsa hugs xxxx

Yes it certainly is honey ....i very much doubt that your initial hcg will come back negative if you are getting lines on tests chick but i understand the worry after what you have been through, I worried myself silly the first few weeks and still do!

More blood on Friday, and when I get to 1200 they will give me a scan x

Ok. So you'll have to be patient until then !
But why do you have to wait until monday for a blood test on friday ? Here it's ready for noon if you go early in the morning, or during the afternoon.

I live in a rural area my doctors send all samples to the nearest town and we get them the next day or after wknd on a friday.
