Hi all i have just found out im pregnant again after i told everyone i didnt want any more kids . my partner is over the moon and came home from work the other day to tell me he had booked us in for a early scan at the baby skan studio in truro as they scan from 6 weeks of pregnancy . he is really looking forward to this scan just to cheeck that all is ok . has any one had a early scan ? and what will i see ? im a little bit scared as i had a miscarrage last year .

I hadnt planned on one but have now one booked in for monday due to recent complications. I will be 5 weeks 6 days so am not sure how much we will see but I totally think its worth doing if you can. Congratulations by the way and I hope everything goes great for you *hugs*

Congratulations!! I had an early scan at what I thought was 6+1, but found that I was actually only 5+2, but a gestational sac, yolk sac and HB were all seen. So at 6 weeks - you should be able to see HB - but this is not always the case, 6 weeks is still very early so it all depends.

Thanks ! I will be OK when iv seen that everything is OK with the baby ! and i will book a few more scans before i get to 12 weeks just to put my mind at rest and its only £49 a scan .
Ps . sorry about the spelling lol ! hope your scan goes well

I had an early private scan at 7.4 it was brilliant. Well worth the money. Good luck x

I'd try and put the early scan off for a week or two if you can, its just that if you go too early and dont see a heartbeat (for example if your dates are slightly out) it really makes you worry and there's nothing you can do other than twiddle your thumbs while you wait a week or two until you can have another scan or blood tests to see if your hormone levels are doubling.
It really is soul destroying when you get sent into limbo like that.
