I have put together a Birth Plan, and as far as I can tell, I have covered everything.
Well there is the fact I have not mentioned anything about like wanting to play music of my own, and wearing my own clothing. But I am not sure it really needs to go in there.
Did I forget anything? Should I add something. I mean I know these are my own preferences and such, but perhaps I overlooked something that should be listed.
Labor:
I would like intermediate external monitoring of baby.
I would like not to be placed on IV unless absolutely necessary.
I would like to be able to walk around and move freely.
I would like to drink and lightly snack through out labor.
I would like for Hospital staff to remain down to my doctor and nurses.
I would like to tend to and breastfeed my daughter normally.
I would like as few vaginal exams as possible
Pain Relief:
I do not want an epidural.
I would like to use the tub and shower.
My doula will use massage.
Cesarean:
If a cesarean becomes necessary. I would like for my doula to accompany me to the OR, whilst my husband remains behind with our daughter. I want for my doula to take photos of baby as soon as she is delivered in the OR.
Delivery:
I would like to be able to move into positions like kneeling/laying on my side/ etc if I choose to.
I do not want an episiotomy, unless absolutely necessary, and after trying a warm compress.
I would like for my husband to cut the cord.
After Delivery:
I would like to hold baby as soon as possible.
I would like to breastfeed as soon as possible.
Baby:
If baby needs to be brought to NICU, I want my husband to accompany her.
I want all exams, testing, etc to go as normally performed.
Baby is to be breastfed only.
