Birthday cake recipes please....

I can't find a recipe for a birthday cake i like for my daughters birthday. If any of you ladies have made one would you mind posting the recipe and pictures?

Do you mean the recipe to make the sponge or the actual design of the cake once the sponge is made?

If its to make the sponge - how big do you want the cake?

I always make mine to the basic recipe of:

4oz self raising flour
4oz margarine
4oz caster sugar
2 egg
a teaspoon or so of either almond essence or vanilla essence.

if you want a chocolate cake substitute 1oz of flour for 1oz cocoa powder.

If you want a cake that is two layers and a reasonable size i would double the above amounts. I usually make a fairly big cake for mine and each layer has 10oz each of flour, sugar and marg and 5 eggs.

Thanks i am looking for a basic recipe which i'm going to make into a tie dye cake, just struggled to find a receipe which wasnt in cups!

I don't use a recipe for weights, I weigh my eggs in the shells, then weigh all the other ingredients to the same weight as the eggs - works really well every time and is delicious
