I've just been sat thinking (mainly 'cause I'm so bored, have nothing to do, and want this baby here NOW)... and I thought "Ooh I know, I'll make a birthing playlist". However... I have questions; - Do I put the music on a CD and take a portable player thing, or will the midwives not like that? - Do I put it on an MP3 player and risk annoying my mother who's gonna be sat there not listening? - AND... what kinda music should I put on there? I've no idea... Maybe we can start a BnB Birthing Playlist?!?! Post your songs ladies! https://www.funmusicco.com/blogimages/musicsym1.gifThe BnB Birthing Playlisthttps://www.funmusicco.com/blogimages/musicsym1.gif (Added as a .PDF below as I thought it may get a little long...!)
what abt an ipod and docking station/small speakers- tis nice and small and u can always take headphones too so u've got a choice of how to listen? i'm planning on having my laptop wih a playlist on it. whats on ur list?
i would put music onto a cd thats what I am planning on doing If you arent sure if you can then ask your midwife but I am sure they will not mind at all as long as it isnt blaring. I know you can make up your own birthing playlist As for what to put on it put anything you like on it I plan on putting all my fav songs etc on it. Granted my taste in music is not all the relaxing stuff etc and alot of it is metal etc but thats what I like to hear . I have heard stories from friends that when they were in labour the place had one continuos cd on over and over and it drove them mad cos they didnt like the artist.
I think like the girls have said, maybe an ipod with docking station or on a CD. I'm having a homebirth so hadn't really thought about it, figured I'd just stick the TV on or get a CD on depending what mood I was in, lol. A playlist sounds like fun though
I am bringing an MP3 player that can be used with speakers or without. I don't want rainforest music or send me to sleep musice. I want music that makes me laugh and alert Still working on a playlist. Good thread
Yeah, that's what I figured; I don't want no wishy-washy "relaxation" stuff... My taste in music is what some might call "noisy" though... So come on girlies, let's have a list of light-hearted tunes... I'm starting with; Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
Yay! I'm gonna add them all to a big list! I came up with another; Death Cab for Cutie - I'll Follow You Into the Dark Sounds a bit depressing, but it always cheers me up for some reason...
give me some hatebreed - i will be heard in labour anyday! def want something with a bit of grrr in to calm me down, some 36crazy fists will be good too. something to realease that tension/stress. don't think whale noise and rainforestswill do much for me appart from annoy me tbh. but also something nice and calming like social distortion for asing along to take my mind off things more so than just to release.kwim? me and mr.man were going through our playlists for music the other day just wanted to add about music players... do they not have to be checked out/given ok by hospital? xXx
I havnt listened to it yet but I got a 3 cd set from Wilkinsons for chilled mothers - well actually I bought it for my mums birthday so i will get a copy (cheeky I am!) and it seems ideal from the labels - like ahs chilled - dreamy and relaxing themes. Was £4.99. I decided not to go with ''normal'' music with words as it will just end up putting me off - I think more background elevator music is whats needed to concetrate and relax to.
How about "Push it" by Salt 'n'Pepa LMAO Sorry couldn't resist that! HAHA Oasis-Roll with it. Aerosmith-Sweet child o mine. Duffy-Mercy
This is what I wondered - don't they have to have one of those green PAT stickers on that says they're not gonna blow up the hospital?!
Our hospital doesn't like you plugging in your own equipment but if asked, I can't see them saying no - they just need to know first! And yeah, it should be PAT tested so you don't cause a power cut I hadn't really thought about music tbh. Music doesn't relax me so I'll be going for stuff that gives me energy... Wonder how long I could put up with Static X or Violent Work of Art - they always make me wanna dance
when i was in labour we put the radio on ... and the best song came up maroon 5 - harder and harder to breathe i was in histerics when the song was playing mw thought i was a right nut lol xx
I will listening to Muse on my MP3, most likely through headphones as its not exactly relaxing music (well, to me it is)
I'm taking my MIL I-pod and dock loaded with Foo Fighters My fave band ever, and I want their *MY HERO* Playing whilst I actually give birth. Reason... I'm convinced this baby is a boy and the lyrics are... *There goes my hero...watch him as he comes...* How appropriate? And i've also felt a really strong connection to that perticular song since being preg, but genrally LOVE every Foo's song ever written as they relax me, whatever mood i'm in it's always changed for the better by the Foo's! Oh, and love Dave Grohl to pieces. My hubby thinks i'm mad! Maybe I am?? Laura and Flumpity Flump. xxxxx
