For some reason I have been really drawn to the girls name Blakely lately. I would name her Blakely Rose. Too masculine? I think it has a nice ring. Thoughts? It happens to be one of the few girl names DH and I agree on. We also like Willow, Amelie and Esme but have gotten some criticism on those and others we like. I think if we have a girl we may chose Blakely and not tell friends/family as to not get criticism but the name will depend of course on how we feel when we see him/her and what name fits. Just wondering what you think so that if that day ever comes, I can expect to hear...???
Thanks!

Hi! I'm sorry but it's not my cup of tea. It's the last name of a tv presenter over here, that's probably why I don't think it works as a first name. I looooove your other choices though, they are so feminine but still solid, classic names. But in the end you shouldn't be swayed by what anyone else thinks anyway, neither by us on here nor by people criticising your names in real life. It's your baby and they will need to live with their name forever so you should pick what you think is nicest!

I quite like the sound of it, particularly with Rose. Not so sure of it by itself though, and I do think it looks quite masculine.
I love Willow though!!

You do need to go with whatever you and OH like the best though. Try not to listen too much to what other people say... We haven't decided on a name yet, but when we do won't be telling anyone (IRL) what it is to avoid unwanted input.

I think it is too masculine personally especially to put with a very feminine name like Rose...but thats just my own personal thoughts ....i do however really like your other girls names you have up there

xx

I did think it was a boys name before I opened the thread but I actually like it for a girl!

I also like Esme a lot x

I wasn't sure on first reading but I quite like it actually!!!

i do quite like it :) ...especially put with Rose

I actually really like it!!

It would probably get shortened to 'Blake' alot...which i still love!

I really like Blakely Rose.... i think it's very pretty! I would say it's a unisex name, just like Blake. But with "Rose" it looks very feminine & pretty. It's different... without being weird. Love it! There is a town near me called Blakely, and i have also seen it as a last name. There is a town near me called Waverly, too.... and i recently heard of someone naming her daughter Waverly. I also like that!

Your other choices are lovely also... especially Willow!!!

Thanks! That is funny as I have Waverly on my list too but DH isn't quite as fond. :)

Just back to see if there are any new opinions on Blakely Rose...? We are discussing it again. It seems there are only a handful of names we both like so even whe I come up with new things we sorta go back to old ones... just thought I would see if there were any more feedback.

Thanks again!!!

I would not choose this name, sorry  Once you and your DH like it thats all that matters!! :flower:

It is one we both like but don't love but I thought I would go back and see if there were any more opinions good/bad. We are still loving Liv just aren't sure being so short. Wish we could find something we just loved!

Amelie is a beautiful name, I really like it  If you like Liv but think its too short then how about Olivia?

I have a good friend (who's a girl) named Blakely, and I really like it. I think it's really cute. I like Willow a whole lot as well; however, I really don't care for Esme or Amelie.

Thanks. I think we may consider using Livia. We thought about it before but I worried it was too close to Olivia which is so popular. But then I began thinking that while she will probably have to correct people the first time she meets them after that it will be fine. We would call her Liv or Livi anyway. But Blakely (among a few others) will just stay on our list in case we decide she isn't Liv when we meet her.

Thanks for sticking by me and feedback on my billion posts/options, lol.

I like Blakely and think it goes well with Rose:flower:

I have Blake on my list as a boys name.

I like Esme alot as well.

I like it, its unusual without being odd and i dont think it sounds too masculine, especially paired with Rose . I like Amelie Rose too :flower:. xx
