Yesterday I had a bit of a browny discharge which is the first time I've had this since become pregnant. I went to the toilet about half an hour ago and there was more brown discharge with a redish tint and a very small blood clot in it (around 5mm wide). I rang the hospital to speak to a midwife but they said that there weren't any available and to ring back later! Anyone else had anything like this, am a bit worried?

Thanks!

So no ones called you back yet, that's bad ! I had spotting at 6 weeks and then at 22, 23 and 24 week. It only lasted a day each time but I was still worried but stupidly did nothing but see myGP who advised rest. Sh said if It happen again to call mat ward straigt away. I would give them another call just to be on the safe side xx

Hi Hun, didn't want to r&r. I'd say if you don't hear back within the hour, call back and insist you speak to someone. I'm sure it says in our green notes that if there's bleeding to contact maternity ward x x

go to the midwife unit in the hospital hun x

I'm not sure, I hope they call you back soon, though. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

Yeah, i agree, you should just go to the maternity dept, then they have to examine you x

Thanks ladies. Just managed to get through to a midwife and they said that it is probably nothing to worry about but to pop in and go for a check just to be sure, scary! Will keep you posted, thanks for all your help and kind words x

Good luck. Hope to hear good news update soon. :)

I know you're at the hospital right now, but i did have bleeding at 24 weeks. It turns out my cervix was irritable, and so started spotting (and a few small clots), normally a day or two after a swab or internal examination. It also seemed to be triggered by absolutely nothing! But cervix was closed and long enough, so consultant said some cervix's just get irritated as pregnancy progresses and that area starts to fill with more blood as you get closer to your due dates.

Good luck... and the fact you were having no pains is a very good sign x

Hope everything is okay for you hun. I've read about women getting cervix irritation during the end of 2nd tri, so maybe its something like that. Naughty of them not to ring you back though, but well done for getting it checked. Hope all is well xxx

I went to the hospital and asked to see a midwife and was told there were none there! I told them I spoke to someone on the phone half an hour before who said to pop in and they seem to think my call diverted to a different hospital even though i rang the number for my local one and wasnt told my call had been diverted. They said if I want to be seen I need to go to another hospital so im at home again now! Havent had anymore discharge/bleeding since so I guess Ill just go back in the morning, how frustrating

What! How annoying. I do think all will be fine Hun, just a bit worying isn't it. Its good you've had none since and it's not bright yet x

Thanks for all your support ladies, really appreciate it. Baby is still moving around lots so that must be a good sign. Will update you all in the morning x

Have been thinking about you today, only just come online but saw you hadn't posted. Hope all is well with you and LO? xxx
