I am 5w&5d.
I went into the ER last night for some random brown bleeding. After blood and urine tests, an ultra sound, and being there for 8 hours, I've been told I have some bleeding in between my uterus and placenta.
He advised me to take it easy, no sex, no running, jumping, bending, ect... He said to follow up with a OBGYN as soon as possible and the condition needs to be watched. Has anyone else ever had this?

Did he say it was a sub chorionic hematoma? I have the same thing. It's a bloodclot between the placenta and the uterus. I was told the same but it's so hard with 4 kids to care for. It usually resolves on its own but you may bleed from time to time. I spot brown on and off and cramp a lot from it.

I had a similar experience on Monday, but in my case was just getting some (TMI alert!) brown discharge and only after a bowel movement for a few days. For me I was told that I had a small bleed but under and away from the baby making it non threatening. Didn't really get too much of an explanation other than it was common and to take it easy, etc. But to get hold of them if anything changed, like it becoming heavier and changing colour.

For me it seems to have already started to disappear, as not had an issue with it today so hoping it's just a short lived problem.

Was baby ok with good measurements and hb?

Sounds like it is something that will resolve. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :hugs:

I had the same thing. I had a bleed at 6 weeks. I spotted consistently for 4 weeks and then one day it stopped. The sub chorionic hemmorhage ha healed its self.

They didn't say much at all about the condition of the baby, just that it wasnt ectopic. They didn't call it a subchronic hemetoma either but I of course looked it up. :p I'm not sure if its that or just the pregnancy in general, but something has had me insanely nauseous for the last few days. :(

All you can do is rest and hope for the best. I was told no sex, no exercise and no lifting.

Same here. I'm a worrier but I'm not too concerned about this as it seems fairly common. I think I've also just worn myself out worrying and I'm fed up with being miserable!

I have a subchorionic hematoma which I'm guessing is what you're experiencing. I had a bleed in my 5th week which I went to the e.r. for. They didn't mention it, just assured me I wasn't mc. I then spotted for most of my 6th week. Then I just had another bleed yesterday.

My midwife is currently pg and had the same thing. She assured me its usually not threatening to baby and heals itself. Im on pelvic rest along with no lifting, straining, reaching high, and to just take it easy. Also when I'm extra crampy or spotting a lot I lay down if possible and put my legs up and that seems to calm it down. I also get ultrasounds every two weeks to monitor the bleed and the baby.

Hope that helps. Chat with your ob and hopefully they will monitor and reassure you.

Update::
I just got up to pee and I'm now spotting red blood... Not a lot so far and also no cramps, so far. It's 10:00pm here so there's no one to call. I'm worried... When this happened before the blood was (TMI) brown and watery. This time it is clearly red... Is it normal for it to go from brown to red? I'm so scared. :(

The way I found out I was pregnant was that I had bleeding so heavy that I thought it was my period. I called my fertility clinic to arrange for my next cycle. That's when I found out I was actually pregnant! Keep positive

I'm scared that it WAS brown (old blood) and now it's red (new blood). How am I supposed to know if this is normal for my SCH or if I'm having a mc??

I know it is so scary. I guess there is no way to really tell. But my doctor said that a mc will have cramps and back ache with it. He also told me that if I was scared to go to the emergency room for reassurance.

I'm not really experiencing cramps but I've been having back pains for a few days.. Figured it was just my UTI giving me grief. :/ These things always seem to happen to me late at night when all the drs offices are closed.

i had two but how i found out i was bleeding alot and so muc thagt even the doctor told me not to hold out hope...they did a untrasound and found ba by happy in there...i bled heavy for a week...put on bed rest....it stopped and the other one started to bleed.....

i would guess this is what is happening to you....the blood need to get out and its the only way to do it...

This is personal, but was your blood brown or red? The bleeding itself isn't as concerning to me as the fact that it was brown and now it's red. I think I'm supposed to bleed that clot out, but doesn't red blood indicate fresh blood& a problem? :(

The same clot can cause several bleeds. Is it heavy bleeding?

I started to spot a couple days ago and the bled heavier last night and this morning. The midwife is worried about an ectopic because the cramping is mostly on my right side. Did you all have cramping all over or was it one-sided. I am really worried it is a tubal pregnancy because when I got a lap and dye done the due didn't go through my right tube. I just started fertility testing the month I got my BFP so I didn't have an HSG to make sure it was clear. The lap and dye was done at the same time I got a cyst removed so the dr. said it could've just been a spasm and the tube may be clear. So worried right now.

October2013, I hope everything works out for you and it's just the bleeding and not a miscarriage. Hugs!
