blocked ducts?

Anyone know how to alleviate them? It's not too bad but not getting any better either!

i had a blocked duct the other day. just keep feeding off the sore boob til it goes away

well my boob started getting sore about 8pm one night and it was gone by about 3pm the next day, that's cos he is still feeding alot during the night though. i think it can take up to 2 days. it will pass!

hmm, J is feeding loads too (6week growth spurt! ) and I have had this for 3 days, as I said, it's not agony, but at least I can still use that boob, he would go mad if I cut the booby!

Also, take a nice warm shower, and massage the knot towards the nipple. It hurts, but keep doing it for a good 10 minutes or more under the warm spray. Also, nurse as much on that side as you can.

Feed on that side as much as possible with baby's nose pointing towards the blocked duct. Alternate hot and cold compresses while you are in the bath. Lather your breast with soap and use a wide-tooth comb to massage the lump towards the nipple. Treat it aggressively before it turns into mastitis.

I've had the occasional stubborn one that lasted 4 days. Just keep on feeding and massaging, etc and hopefully it will work itself out soon. I also like to check my nipples when in the shower, sometimes the plug will work it's way right to the exit point and I can see the little white milk grain and then I just sort of squeeze it out like a pimple -sounds gross, but it's not really.

i massage mine loads - particularly good in the shower - it tends to disappear within 2 days at most. I keep getting it on the same side as lo doesn't latch on as well on that side. Hope yours goes soon. xx

omg, I have this! well, I have a white spot on my nipple. Sounds lovely huh?
