Blood Streaks in CM... Advice please :-(

Hi Ladies,

I am 15w2d days today. While using the restroom earlier today, I noticed bright read streaks of blood in my CM. It scared me,and I can't stop searching google for any information; I am hoping you ladies have some advice or insight.

I had been in a car for about two hours prior to this and my bladder was about to explode... could that have something to do with it? ... also I had just gone #2 (sorry, TMI), but wasn't really straining at the time. I haven't noticed severe cramping or anything like that, just my usual mild ligament pain/ cramping. And I've used the restroom several times since, CM is back to a normal color. I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year, so I have been a basket-case this entire pregnancy so far. I know there is a chance of complications any time during pregnancy, but I was so happy to enter second tri... thought I was in the clear.

Are you dehydrated? A friend of mine had issues with spspotting during her pregnancy because she was very sensitive to dehydration. She kept on top of her water intake and went on to have a very normal pregnancy

I don't think I'm dehydrated. I've really been trying to keep up on my water intake, I suppose It wouldn't hurt to drink more. Thanks for the tip.

I think if it's just something that happens once, and doesn't come with cramping/fever etc it's just a "it happens" moment. Going number 2 can do it for me to, even a slight strain. I've had the one off times where I get some red with my cm when I wipe and then it's gone. I know it's disconcerning but if there's nothing else happening with it and it stops almost as soon as it starts I'd say don't worry.

You can always call your Dr if you're worried

Thanks for the reassurance. You're right... you'd think if there was something terribly wrong it would continue. I just want this so bad, don't know what I'll do if something horrible happens again. Positive thoughts.

I have a hemmoraghe that caused me to spot from about week 5 to 10, give or take. The entire time I was convinced something was wrong that I would miscarry etc. Well I'm happy to say that baby girl is so far so good and I'm starting to feel kicks. I go for a scan on the 29th to make sure she's doing good, but it goes to show that as scary as it is not all bleeding is bad. There are positive stories and outcomes to it

Just keep an eye out for cramps, fever etc other signs of concern and obviously if it happens again or gets worse off to the doc you go!

Any kind of bleeding/spotting during pregnancy is scary! Hugs.
I've spotted on 3 different occasions so far: once after a run, once after a bowel movement (which like you, wasn't overly strained), and once after sex. It's concerning but there's usually a reason for it. If you have a sensitive cervix, due to all the new and fragile blood vessels in there, it doesn't take much for some bleeding to occur. If it's followed by cramps (not the ligament/growing kind) or if you start feeling unwell, I would definitely have it checked out but it's probably just one of those things.....

straining to go potty #2 can definitely cause some bleeding! just keep an eye on it. & if you're still in doubt, contact your doctor.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. But I have a subchoironic hematoma which I thought was gone. I think it was the last of it coming out. Have been a bit crampy since, but nothing bad.
It's so nerve wracking isn't it?
