When I start weaning, will it be ok to use butter, say for example on toast slices?? or is it better to use a spread such as philly?? I'm concerned about the salt content in butter x

I just use a little scrape of Flora Light, just what we use really.
Probably find salt is like for like in cheese spread and a buuter / marge / spread x

you can get unsalted butter if you prefer to have no salt - I use it when baking for LO, not so much for spreading as it's too hard (though it's ok on ricecakes). we use Philadelphia and normal Flora on bread/toast now.

We use unsalted butter at home xx

I just use unsalted butter, personally, I prefer to use butter over marge as its more natural. Sometimes i'll give lo toast and butter or cheese spread or avocado, if i'm putting a topping on then I don't use butter as well x

You could make your own unsalted butter, it's so easy, just shake some cream in a jar until it turns into butter, doesn't take long.

For me, when I get to the weaning stage, I will use extra virgin olive oil lightly spread on things, as that is what I use for myself.
