What is it about TTC that throws the body into chaos? I am 31 years old, came off of birth control and used other bc methods since I was 23, and as soon as I came off BC, my cycles settled into a nice clockwork rhythm.

For the past 8 years I've enjoyed truly regular cycles...28 days, ovulation last couple of months (first time I've ever tracked with OPK) even tested positive on the 14th day. My husband and I tried NTNP a while and then got impatient. So this is my second month TTC and....

Period is currently eight days late. HPTs are negative. A few cramps off and on, on one side or the other like it's my ovaries and not my uterus. Had some spotting this morning, figured period was finally coming....and then nothing. I have no pregnancy symptoms and no period symptoms except for the bizarre cramps that come and go and don't really rise above annoyance to true pain.

I wasn't expecting to get pregnant my second month TTC. But neither was I expecting my body to fly off the handle and go crazy on me. Laying here now with flutter-cramps in my right ovary (they were in the left one last night) and beginning to believe I had a cyst or something. I just don't know why I'm having discomfort on both sides. Dr. isn't too worried, and can't see me till next week anyway, so I imagine all the weirdness will have sorted itself out by then.

Blah. Now I don't know when to start OPK tests again (from the spotting or when period starts?) and have no clue what this is going to do to my cycle length and such. I know from forums like these that women's cycles go nuts when TTC, and now I'm seeing it in action.

/end rant
