Hello all! I am new here and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Or if I'm nuts.

With my last pregnancy I gained 50 pounds. It really took a hit on my self-esteem and I enjoyed the pregnancy a LOT less because of how puffy I was. I eventually managed to lose the weight but now, 9 weeks/2 days along with number 2, I feel I am on the same track. Have already gone up two pants sizes, and it's due to my hips/thighs, NOT my tummy!

I am nauseous ALL the time and healthy food makes me turn green. The only thing that seems to help settle my stomach is mac-and-cheese or otherwise equally unhealthy foods.

I really hoped I'd be better this time around and focus more on my diet and exercise, so I'm feeling a little depressed right now. (It doesn't help that my sister-in-law is a size zero supermodel GODDESS who I have to stand next to in pictures, lol!!)

Anyone else have these type of issues, concerns? What did you do?

Thanks in advance, xoxo

Hey im new here too and am having the same concerns. When i got pg with my DD i was a size 3, after i had her i stayed at a 9, lowest i went was a 7. I thought this was normal and didnt think much of it, wit my DS i went up to an 11-13. I just recently got my BFP and am a lil worried. Im only 5'1 n dont think my body can take on more weight, my plans for now is to do some walking and to eat healthier, also i plan on talkin to my dr about my weight concerns (diabetes runs in the fam)

I know what you mean too, happy you started this thread! With my son, I was heavy to begin with around 195 lbs, I'm 5'8'. I gained 36 lbs with him, then lost 40 lbs after. With my daughter, I gained 13 lbs, and lost 44 lbs bringing me down to 160 lbs. I just had a MC in December and with that pregnancy I gained 18 lbs by 12wks (had my MC at 12 wks 1 day). Just got my BFP and I am really hoping to have a nice and healthy steady weight gain. I honestly didn't want to go past 180lbs with my pregnancy, but I'm 175 lbs right now, so I can't see that happening. Just going to try to eat as healthy as possible, and keep active (walking often etc)

Thank goodness you started this thread I am not alone.. I am already considered obese because I am 5'1 and I started out at 197 I now weigh 206... I feel horrible and disgusting.. I am almost 10 weeks I don't think I am supposed to gain that quickly.. Mostly I think it is because I can still eat whatever I crave or want as I haven't had morning sickness. I know that I need to gain weight for the baby and so I am trying not to stress about it.. It just means I will work my ass off after the baby is here.

The body issues bit seems to get better once I go from just looking fat to actually looking pregnant. However, last time this didn't happen for me until around 20 weeks, if not a little longer.

I just feel like I've started down this unhealthy eating/lack of exercise road that is REALLY hard to turn around due to first trimester fatigue/nausea! I know I'm making excuses but....ugh!

My goal was to gain no more than 30 lbs this pregnancy, despite my MIL's constant reminders that she only gained 22 lbs with each pregnancy and "from behind you couldn't even tell I was pregnant!" (grrrr......)

I'm afraid to weigh myself but am going to do so tomorrow before breakfast and then buckle down and then get on a plan. Maybe find a buddy to focus on healthy eating and a little bit of exercise with me...the walking is a good idea!

I started out a little overweight, but i'm so far not really afraid of the weight gain... Might just be cos it's my first. After the birth I plan to swim more etc and lose the weight gradually but i dont have many body issues cos my mantra is 'fuck it, why die perfect' lol xx

I like your attitude Griffin. Congrats on your first. Whenever I get a little down/nervous about the mushy tushy thing, I remind myself how lucky I am to be preggers and besides, I don't want Playboy and they don't want me, so what's the big deal?! :)

Lol it's a case of what will be will be hun. Babies equal weight. I want this baby so much if I need to gain some to stay healthy and keep baby healthy that's fine by me xxx
