Hi Ladies, what Bottles will some of you be using for your LO's? I've always used Dr Brown's and they're fantastic, However I have bought some Mam anti colic bottles and DS seems to like them. I'm wondering if I should switch for new baby. I've had no problems with them I think they're quite funky looking too. I would have loved to have breast fed, but I've tried to with my DD & DS and just didn't happen

Anyone else bottle feeding and unsure of which bottles to go for? x

We're bottle feeding and have looked into each different brand, they all have their pros and cons!
We've decided to try avent first, and we plan on using milton to sterilise so we don't need to worry about certain bottles not fitting into certain sterilisers which is good if we need to change bottle!

I'll be sticking with tommee tippee and mam ones. both will fit in to the huge tommee tippee electric sterilizer. i plan on breast feeding but also expressing so OH gets his bonding time whilst doing feeds also. xx

I will be breastfeeding and pumping so I can actually leave the house, but we have registered for the bornfree brand.

Jcliff - The bornfree are similar to the Dr Brown's aren't they? x

aww how exciting and we are both expecting boys ! your the first person I've come across that we share the same due date. :hugs:

We've been given some tommee tippee ones brand new and everyone i know used those and had no complaints, so i guess we'll just buy a few more of those. There are so many different kinds of teats though!!

I really need to start doing my homework - that'll give me something to do on my maternity leave i suppose lol

knk11 - I used tommy tippee and my DD didn't like them and I've known them to warp in the steriliser.

jcliff - Really? that's brilliant!! We don't get anything like that here!

I try to buy the simplest ones I can find. Wide neck ones because they're easier to clean and for baby to handle too. The simpler ones tend to be easier to pre-make in (i.e. you can stand them in water, sterilise in a pan of water etc etc without too much hassle).

For Earl I used Mothercare own, for Eddy I use Boots own - primarily becuase they're not expensive and I can get them at the local shops if a teat were to give out for example.

I'm lucky though in that my two haven't been gassy in the slightest and nothing more than the odd shot of infacol in the first 8ish weeks has been required. I tried the MAM ones with Eddy and found them fiddly and they leaked on my a few times (from the screw at the bottom). I sold them on ebay as they had only been used literally half a dozen times before I went to Boots lol. Not sure which I'd go for in the event of having a gassy baby - guess I'd have to see what Boots had in - I think they stock Tommee Tippee and Dr Browns

Is it best to stick with one brand of bottle? Or could I maybe try a few different ones.

I did a TON of research before DS and read a million reviews. We ended up spending quite a bit before we found something that worked. Ended up being the playtex drop ins (the ones with liners). We tried ventaire, Avent, dr browns & nuk. So my suggestion is to NOT invest too much before you try them out.

Got a couple of tommee tippee just in case (breast feed hopeful!) but I've heard quite negative things so I'm not buying any more & just waiting

I'm hoping to breast feed too, luckily we were given our tomme tippee stuff as a gift, including the food warmer and steriliser.

i used tommee tippee wirh my first, and will be using the same again. they are supposed to be like a breast. ' closer to nature '

Mam anti colic bottles are good, but a pain in the arse to clean!! So many bits.
Im not planning on using any bottles this time round, more hassle than it's worth.

we used tommee.tippee and had no problem so prob use them again x
