My sister has just bought this as a present for the baby

I have a bouncer because it's a bit more portable we can put her anywhere and she can still be sat up more:)

After having had both I would always recommend a swing. The bouncers are really just somewhere to put the baby in my opinion, the swings really workrocking the baby back and forth, many are very very expensive i have noticed and up to you how much you want to go up to!

I had the Fisher price smart stages 3 in 1 last time and it was great as the kids used the chair till they were around 2 years old, well worth the money!

This time i like the look of and the reviews for the Mamas and Papas Star-lite swing, i think the star bit on the canopy is something baby would really like, and its fairly portable, the also sell a perfect height swing that can double up as a highchair so if on a budget that could appeal too? xxx

if you have to choose, then i say the swing its rocking motion was a life saver with my first, but if you can have both having the bouncy chair is also nice and most come with vibration too and are much more portable than a swing.

I have a bouncer but did almost buy a swing, I think they're both just as good.

thankyou everyone:D
looks like the swing it iss...
im looking to spend around 100 because my mum is buying it for me so dont wanna ask for too much :haha: i do really like the mama's and papa one thou!

OMG! Yes that one is meant to be good but they are so bloomin dear!

Lucky you though! xxx

I wanted a bouncer at first as they are generally more portable, but i found this swing which can be folded and has handles to enable you to carry it so it's just as portable as a bouncer xx

i wanted a bouncer as i think its a nice seat for baby to relax in, my sister got us one for a pressie. but my sister also giving us a swing she had for my neice so we gonna have both my sister had both she said she used the swing more as baby got older but the bouncer more from birth.

have bought both I got a rocker which vibrates n plays some music n nature sounds it was only £30 too n then I bought a starlite swing too half price on eBay brand new! I bought both with my son but he rarely went in his swing he hated if for some reason and was always in his rocker think he like it as the fabric was softer and he liked it set to vibrate! But then I know many people who say swing better so I went with both again just didn't spend to much and il see which she prefers lol x

I'm going for a bouncer, that way baby can make it move himself, so it's a bit more interactive for him. I've got one with a vibrate function which I've heard is really good for getting them to sleep.

i mite get a cheapp bouncer just to have both coz i like being prepared lol
the graco swing looks sooo good but too expensive for me:(
you know the pink one from argos how much was that1?xx

My sister went to buy it thinking it was £80 and when she went it had £20 off so she paid £60, don't know how long that offer will last though x x

I used both, with my first 2 and will again this time too... they both are great for different things, and well worth having.

I couldn't decide so I wound up getting both as I've heard it really depends more on the personality of the little one as to which they prefer.

thanks again:D
il let you know which one i decide to get:)x

Iv got the Fisher Price rainforrest take along swing not too big and you can collapse it easy,I recomend searching for it cheaper online 1st like ebay, amazon, tesco etc try get it half the price.x

I have both a swing and a bouncer and my baby hated both when she was first born. Around 6 weeks she started liking the bouncer but she doesnt like the vibrate feature at all. She still doesnt like the swing! I've used the swing with other babies and they loved it - so it depends on your child. Megan actually prefers just a blanket on the floor more than either item - LOL She also uses her playmat quite a bit. btw - The bouncer is great for putting in the bathroom when I take a shower.
