Hello dear mommies,

I know this is the most asked question, still your experience would help me.

I am 14weeks+2 days, first time prego.
We had our appointment at the doc today and had our ultrasound done. The doctor said that if he had to say something about the gender today than it might be a boy. Do you think that by week 18 or 20 the gender might change?

Any of you experienced this too?

Many thanks and happy pregnancy.

I think 14 weeks is a little early to tell. I know they have the nub theory but I wouldn't take his word for it until your 18 week scan. Things can easily be misjudged at this early stage :hugs:

I wouldn't go buying blue just yet!! It's a lot clearer from 16weeks onwards...

hi all,
I had my scan this week ... and yippie it is a girlie.
But the doc said I should wait another 3 weeks before shopping or painting rooms etc... cuz he could be wrong... argh...

I thought I should tell you all... if you care to know.
Bye

I would defo wait ..

Usually the earliest is 16+3 or something. Usually around 16 weeks and a few days and still then it can be wrong.

At 12 weeks gestation the baby parts look nearly identical, the clit and the penis are nearly indistinguishable on an ultrasound. I'd wait a little longer before joining team blue!

A good friend of me had their boy changed to a girl a month later - after the radiographer said he was 100% sure the first time!

14 weeks is very very early! Congrats either way!

I had a private scan at 15 weeks on the dot and you could tell he's ALL boy, I even got a 100% guarantee this one won't be turning into a little girl. It really just depends on the baby. Congrats on your LO! Hope you make it to team blue :)
