Hello Ladies

Ok so our little girl is called Amber and we need a name of a similar ilk, i.e. a bit different but not outlandish. Here is my problem.

Hubby doesn't want it to have anything to do with the following::sad2:

Old Fasioned, royalty, biblical, no popular tv show names, and ideally he would like a link (however tenuous) to beer!:hissy:

I am starting to go mad!!!!!!!!!

Please help.

Beer? Err.. have you googled something like 'famous men in the beer industry' ??

That is a tough set of requirements. What have you ruled out so far, to give an idea.

I think it's quite an american name, but what about Corey, like Coors beer?

Thanks chaps, I like Corey but should have said needs to be real ale not just beer... just to make things even harder. He tried to talk me into Riddley or Lieus/Lewis but I don't like them (i.e. Riddley's brewery is in Lieus).

I talked him into Amber for our Daughter because it is a recognised beer colour.

I like Oscar (as in Oscar wild mild beer) but Ben won't have it because there was a baby called Oscar in Eastenders.

You see why I'm starting to lose it!!!!!

That's really tough! Oscar in Eastenders will soon be forgotten, surely?!

I'm pretty sure this is the strangest set of criteria i have seen on here so far... lol. And i have to say, i would personally never give in to my OH's specifications if they were this bizarre!

But, here are some suggestions that may help you out --

James (James Squire Amber Ale)
Edgar (Edgar's Golden Ale)
William (William Wothington's White Shield)
Carlton
Tommy / Arthur (Tomme Arthur)
Pauly (St. Pauli Girl)
Samuel / Adam
Harvey (Harveys Ale)
Miller
Zima
Killian (I think this one's my favorite)

Best of luck finding a name you love! BTW, i think Riddley is kinda cute!

out of the names above, i think harvey and amber go lovely together, and james is nice (i know he said he doesnt want popular) but it goes with the amber for 'James Squire Amber Ale'

How about Daniel... as in Thwaites Brewary... https://www.danielthwaites.com/ xx

my friend has a new born named killian. we are in the states so plenty far enough away. lol i love the name jack or jackson for a boy. ok so, jack daniels isn't even beer but it's close to his category!!

Thanks MommyTammy, your right it is the MOST bizare and unhelpful set of criteria and he's driving me truely nuts with it... Hence posting for help from all you lovely Ladies!!!!!!

Riddley is cute but a friend really put me off it, silly I know but it just doesn't work for me now. I really like some of your suggestions tho, Harvey, Adam and Killian - where does Killian come from?

I like James too but Hubby said "too royal"!!!! OMG I am losing my mind!

Daniel is a lovely name too, thanks to those of you that suggested that one. I am so glad that there are friendly women out there willing to help when my husband has driven me nuts. Honestly as if being nearly 38 weeks preggers isn't enough of a stress without this on top! x

History
George Killian's Irish Red is a beer with an Irish heritage, based on a recipe created at Lett's Brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland, in 1864. The beer is named after George Killian Lett, the great-grandson of George Henry Lett, who founded the brewery in Enniscorthy.[1] It was originally an Irish red ale called "Enniscorthy Ruby Ale," and brewed from 1864 to 1956, when the brewery closed and it was discontinued. It is no longer sold in Ireland.[2] The brand name "George Killian" was purchased by the Pelforth Brewery in France. In 1981 Coors bought the rights to use the brand name "Killian's Irish Red" in America for a 4.9% abv amber lager which became very popular.[3][4]

Found this description of where "Killian" comes from online -- but uh oh -- may be "too irish" for your husband's liking! Lol :dohh:

Please let us know what name your little baby bean ends up getting!

Thanks MommyTammy that's really helpfull and interesting too, not sure Ben'll go for it but we can try!!!!!!

I bet after all this madness it'll be a girl!!!!!! :dohh: LOL.

Will let everyone know when he/she is hear and duely named!:winkwink:

Best wishes lovely ladies!!!!!!
:happydance:
