Hi ladies,

is it just me or are breast feeding tops really unstylish? or if they are half decent they're expensive!!?? :growlmad:

whats all that about, i think i would rather jus make do with normal tops with buttons/zips at the front or something...lol xx

Mothercare do some nice ones, i have a lovely pink one from there. To be honest though, i just wear normal tops, and pull them up/down to access a boob. Not hard really!

I have often thought this too.

I've been buying some things in prep for the baby coming, and have found H&M to offer the best range of loose, long-length, button-front tops that would be perfect for feeding (and they look stylish too - in lots of different colours and fabrics). Ironically the proper feeding tops they sell in their maternity range look really horrible though.

When I went to my breastfeeding workshop the mother who was feeding said she just wore normal tops, often with a thin vest top underneath so she could pull one up and one down whilst preserving her modesty :)

PS H&M will be starting to sell online from 16 Sep.

I've been thinking that. So expensive for really plain vests and t-shirts etc and no good bargains to be had. Starting to think they're not worth it - a shirt is just as good and for example I saw some button down tops in New Look the other day for about a fiver whcih would work as well.

A few of my maternity tops double as nursing tops so will start with those and a few shirts / tops that are stretchable/flexible and see if I need to bother with nursing ones.

I don't get nursing PJs at all - why would I pay ten times as much as a cheap stretchy vest top when I'm only going to be wearing them to breastfeed alone or with DH in my own home!

That's what I do! :haha:  It makes it so much easier at night just to not even deal with a top. Just one more thing to get in the way. Other than that, I don't have any nursing tops. The only item I could possibly see being nice to have is a dress designed for nursing, but I have yet to find one that I like, can afford, and can fit into  My boobs are so big compared to the rest (except for now , haha) that when I find something to fit my bust, it is all baggy on the rest of me, or if it fits the rest, my breasts are so squished its comical.
