As the title says really, Ive been told by a friend today that if you pump with a breast pump it can trigger the hormones to get labour started, I'm very start/stop at the moment anyway so could just be the nudge i need, anyone tried it? iI havent got one so i would have to go and buy one but there not that much, also its my due date tomorrow xxx
Oh I am picking mine up soon... I already paid for it. My SO will think I am nutty if I start using it before baby comes.... I guess this would be "nipple stimulation"...? correct? heck if you do not hurt yourself try it!
I was having a play with mine the other night, bearing in mind my boobs aint even leaking yet and oh my word it hurts!!!!! lol
I've got a manual brest pump, if people say this could work, i might just try it. I have been doing a bit of the old nipple tweaking and i must admit i seem to get more tightenings when i'm doing it lol xx
Would feel abit daft and perverted sat there twiddling me own nips, so might get pump out instead haha
My OH wont do it, says once he started that he wouldnt be able to stop with other stuff in the spare of the moment, but he would regret it later as he wont gimmie sex whilst im carrying our son lol FOOL!!!
I tried it and it gave me contractions but they soon stopped after a coupke of hours, no harm in it tho. Good luck.
Thanks ladies, suppose theres some logic in it somewhere as when you start breastfeeding it makes your womb contract, just did a quick google search and I cant see much reason not to try it, certainly gotta be less invasive than proper medical induction! xxx
I have had 3 lots of pre term labour all stopped last one I was 30 wks. I have had to use a breast pump since I was 24 weeks as I leaked constantly. I am still using it now, it dose seem to work.
i always thought it was twiddling your nips, but i read the other night that the best way is to use the palm of your hands to massage the whole nipple/areola area with circular motions 15-20minutes at a time-several times a day!!
mine said... and these are his exact words "why did you buy that I can do it for you".... he used to milk cows as a kid... hehe
Using a breast pump before your baby is born can affect your ability to produce colostrum once the baby is born. Just a thought...
