breastfeeding and the combined pill

so luisa was fed expressed breast milk for the first 3 weeks as she wouldnt latch on..

i had to switch to formula as my milk was drying up and i couldnt express enough to feed her i started just topping up with formula but started to develop PND as a result of the failed BF so the HV advised i stop expressing..and just try latching her on and topping up..

tht didnt work and i gave up esp wen luisa got oral thrush and dr said it wasnt worth it... dr put me on combined pill for contraception as i had stopped bf...


now for my questions,,,

over the last week my boobs have been leaking? mainly at night time.. they dont hurt or feel full but i keep getting patches on my bras and pjs...

so i was wondering about giving the expressing ago again..

can i do this while on combined pill?

switching to the formula gave her constipation for the first week or so and she now settled on it.. if introduce breast milk again will the change upset her tummy again?

all advice appreciated..

i just feel tht she benefited from the Breast milk and would still benefit from it now even if it was combined with formula.. but then again she is happy on the formula now...

As far as i know you can't feed baby when you're on the combined pill, not sure why i assume its to do with baby ingesting oestrogen being contraindicated as its ok to take the mini pill which is progesterone

the doctor told me u cant BF while ur on the combined pill, you could always switch onto the progestorone only pill and keep expressing, but dont give her it until the pill is out of ur system

had a feeling tht would be the case

unfortunalty the mini pill is not an option due to my endometrious.. and if i come of contraception all together im likely just to bleed non stop

you could get a coil fitted maybe? im not sure which one but the doctor suggested it to me, dont know if you could have that though
