Breasts drying up?extreme pain!

I've started mix feeding and not been too religious about pumping when I bottle feed so guessing this is trying up! They are still constantly leaking but so painful.
I'm happy for them to dry up but scared ill get mastitis , help

Are they hot and red? Sounds like it could be mastitis. I had it and it was very painful, when my milk dried up it didn't hurt at all. I would suggest seeing your GP. I hope you feel better soon x

Yes they are but I thought mastitis was localized to one breast and would start with a noticeable lump

I didn't notice a lump but my GP found a cluster of small lumps on examination. If you haven't been pumping then it is possible to get it on both breasts at the same time, it's unlucky but possible as neither breast is being drained. My went hot, red, felt swollen and I felt sleepy and shivered and sweated like crazy. You should be able to get an urgent appointment if you suspect it and if it is then the antibiotics clear it up in a week x
