Breasts starting to leak at 24 weeks

Morning all,

Over the last few days i've noticed that my nipples have leaked a very small amount of milk. Is this normal for 24 weeks? It's my first pregnancy. One drop seemed to be quite yellow but the other drops seemed to be more white.

Yep totally normal It starts in first trimester for some ladies!

It won't be your milk supply just yet, it'll be colostrum

I started leaking at 17 weeks with first pregnancy, and embarrassingly enough I was wearing no bra too! My PJ top was stimulating the nipple which produced more

Yep! It happened early in my first but hasn't happened so far with this one.

Also, u don't have to be pregnant to produce milk. As long as there is suction for a steady amount of time for a consistent period, u can start to produce small amounts.


Anywho glad to learn that it's normal. One less thread for me to start Oh the future.

Yup, happened to me starting at 14 weeks if I remember correctly. Its colostrum though, not milk yet, which is why it may have looked yellow. Time to buy breast pads!

Totally normal! Breast pads are a godsend, especially after the baby is born if you plan on BF'ing. I remember going in for a haircut shortly after I had my first, looking in the mirror and realizing I had a huge wet circle on one side of my shirt right over my breast. Good thing I was wearing black!

Yup totally normal, with my first I started "leaking" a little before the 20 week mark if I remember rightly.. Atm it won't be milk it will be colostrum which is more yellow tbh at firsts mine was just like a watery yellow sorry tmi but then as time passed it changed to more of a milky colour with a tinge of yellow and increased a bit as the pregnancy progressed, after you give birth it will increase dramatically may I add! and if you choose to breastfeed the colostrum (which is great for you baby FULL of vitamins!) will last for a wee while then it will gradually get whiter and milk will come in

And the milk boobs between 7-10 days after giving birth... Embrace them! They will look the best they've ever looked (plus some tenderness).
