Well its official, baby turned breech on me today at 36 weeks...:( so sad...anyone have a breech baby at 36 weeks and hve LO turn...docs want to schedule csection...:( Posted in third trimester and figured i'd see if anyone had any advice or natural delivery at this point in their pregnancies on here...
Thanks in advance...

You could see if there is a dr there that would try turning the baby from the outside. They say it usually puts you into labor, but at 36 weeks you should be okay.

they said they would do that if bum wasn't down there too (just feet) but there is a risk involved with that as well...i dunno! such a tough decision...

You could always try moxibustion - accupunture. Apparently it can get good results. At least it is a 'natural' method to get baby to turn itself.

I had a emergency c-section for an undiagnosed footling breech baby after 20 hours of labour! A scheduled c-section is always better than an emergency. My current bub at 33 weeks is also breech but due to other complications I will be having another c-section anyway.

Good luck.

My 1st daughter turned from breach to head down at exactly 39 weeks.... went for my appointment and doc said its a section if she doesn't turn in the next few days.... went home, and literally watched her turn herself around LOL.

this is all great to know! my pcp offered accupuncture, just wasn't sure how safe it was at this point!!!i may just try that!

did anyone hear that it's dangerous for children to be breech at this point? someone on anther forum said it could indicate a problem....

Hi, my daughter was breech and we tried a ecv but it didn't work. It wasn't as painful as some people have said. They got her bum out but her head wouldn't turn. I had a section at 38 + 5 which I really didn't want. The procedure was great but scary and I was out of hospital in 2 days.

Breech *may* indicate a problem with baby or you (anything out of the norm does), but I don't think it is common. My daughter was breech and there was nothing wrong with her or me and my next one was head down and I had a vbac after her. So no explanation for why, it just happened and she ran out of space (I joked she didn't have a sense of direction like her father). I know a few people with breech babies who have needed a caesarean and all babies have been fine and healthy, it is just riskier to deliver vaginally with them (due to damage to you and most importantly I was told, if their head gets stuck).

My caesarean was fairly straight forward and I recovered fairly quickly (preferred my vbac though), but at the time I just wanted what was safest. I did read that you could try getting on all fours or swimming to help gravity to allow bub's to turn. I tried it a little (not seriously), but no luck.

Hello, my daughter turned round at 36 weeks. One thing to be aware of, is babies who are breech have an increased risk of something called DDH (generally known as clicky hips). It's worth mentioning as it can be treated very easily and the earlier it is caught, the better.

Natural delivery is possible with breech babies, and it's worth discussing with your midwife/consultant. I had some very long chats with both midwives and docs and decided that for me, the best option would have been a c section. She did turn round and I ended up with a section for other reasons and it was absolutely fine.
