So I get scans every two weeks and baby has been breech in all of them I have ever had and still is..(just about 27 weeks now) I know there is still plenty of time for her to turn, doc says they don't worry until 36 weeks but what concerns me is that she is consistently in this position and honestly I don't think she has ever turned around, its always the same, head under my right ribs, butt off to the right legs off to the left. (I have an anterior placenta if this makes a difference at all) Just wondering for those of you ladies that have had breech babies throughout there whole pregnancy did they ever move at the end or should I start possibly be preparing myself for the thought of a C section?

Mine never turned before 27 weeks but ive had a scan today and they are both head down :)
Dont worry some babies turn during labor!
If the doc has no worries then neither should you hun.
:hugs:

my baby is breech too lol and shes a girl! my first, ave to go for a presentation scan on monday to see if she is defo still breech, wee rascal! I doubt she is gonna move for me now as I am 37 weeks this sunday, and as she is my first they will only do a c-section at 39 weeks. looking back she was breech at both my scans, but I think she is too comfy or scared to move position, but they do say babies can turn last minute when you are ready to go into labour! so you never know hun.

had my 28 wk appt on weds & midwife said she was breech but bot too be worried AT ALL....as theres still so much room for her to move around, they usually assess the situation at around 34 wks xxx

Your baby still has plenty of time to turn
However mine has been breech in every single ultrasound since 20 weeks and he has never moved......I am 39 weeks now and have a scheduled c-section next Thursday because of it. He must be pretty comfy where he is lol :baby:

Frances was in breech throughout. I tried evreything. Frozen peas at top of bump - music playing at bottom - bottom in air - legs up a wall - visit to the osteopath, etc etc. At about 32 weeks I felt a big movement, which turned out to be her just putting her legs straight from bent, so ended up with feet and head up at my ribs!
They did a scan at about 36/37 weeks to confirm position and then booked a ECV. Did that at 37 weeks and it didn't work. Glad I tried it, but wouldn't do it again. She was firmly wedged. So had to have a c section at 39 weeks. It wasn't recommended that I allow labour to happen in the hopes she would turn as it would be too risky. So if your bubba does stay breech, and you do do a turn and it failes, then I'm afraid c section is the safest option. Mine was lovely, in retrospect, although I was totally disappointed. Have a read of my birth story if you're interested to see what it was like!
Hope you get a turn though!

Hi Minkie

My baby has been persistently breech and back-to-back, and I'm 38 weeks today. It's easy to know a baby is still breech at this stage - the head poking out the top of the bump and the way down low kicks are proof enough!

I too have an anterior placenta, and quite likely also have a bicornuate uterus - both these things can make turning difficult.

I prepared myself for a c-section ages ago. It's labour I'm not prepared for so if baby magically turns now I'm in trouble!

Laura x

I have an anterior placenta too, and from every 4 weekly scan I have had baby has been breech, I am 31 weeks tomorrow, and today at the hospital for monitoring and another scan she is still bum down, with her legs up over her head...I am doubting she will turn as she seems way too comfy like that...nor am I going to attempt to turn her, it is likely I will be having a second c-section due to raised blood pressure now making me too risky to attempt a VBAC.

my son was breech throughout never turned lol!

just cos your baby is breech you don't need a section hun xx

my little man has been breech all the way thru, i've also been having fortnightly scans and found out yesterday that he'd turned at 34+2. tbh, i'd geared myself up for a c-section and i know it sounds a little silly but i'd gotten used to it and was relieved that at least i;d know when it was gonna happen-it'd make childcare for my daughter a hell of a lot easier! i didn;t do anything special as sonogropher wasn't at all worried untill 36 weeks when she said we'd have to neet with consultant to discuss options but now he's turned hopefully he'll stay this way! i'm sure your little one'll turn when they're ready hun, but it doesn't harm to read up on c-sections just incase, i'm really glad i took the time to research it incase i have to have an emergency one, now i know what to expect i feel much more in controll and less worried it all, take care x

my sil is pregnant and her baby was breech, baby has now moved at nearly 38 weeks so it can happen :)

My LO has been breech at every scan I've had and shown no signs of budging! I've got another scan on Monday when I'll be 37+1 to see where she is but I know she's still breech. I don't want to try an EVC, and have resigned myself to having a C-section.

TY for all the replies ladies. It does seem that the general consensus for babies that have been locked into the same position through the entire pregnancy most likely won't turn, specially if it is an anterior placenta..BUT I know nothing is set in stone and she might be a good little girl and turn around when the time is right!! I will do my homework in the mean time though and read up on CS so that I am prepared ...kind of sucks to think of not being able to go through labor....but I will stay positive!!

Baby has presented breech or transverse throughout, but a scan today showed he was head down :)

you don't need to have a c section hun! :flower:

My baby was breech all the way up to 35 weeks and then turned head down. Still plenty of time to turn at 27 weeks don't worry xx

Plenty of time to turn - my baby was still Breech at 32 weeks. I did Moxibustion at 35 weeks and my baby turned at 35+6, the day before my 36 week scan. I honestly wouldn't start worrying until you get to 35/36 weeks. You might find this thread helpful https://www.babyandbump.com/pregnancy-third-trimester/385625-breech-babies-support-thread.html

My little man has been breech since 28 weeks, never been head down i dont think lol & im having a c-section on wednesday:thumbup:

But all babys are different hun, so theres a big chance baby will turn, or if it dosn't theres still the option of them trying to turn baby at 37 weeks or if hes bum down they might let you go for a natural delivery & then c-section for 39 weeks:hugs::thumbup:

Have you looked at www.spinningbabies.com? Thought it might help to take a look at it. I have been using it to work out how my baby is lying! xxx
