Bright red bleeding - going insane

Hi girls - I am losing my mind. Just before I went to bed last night I noticed a little spotting when I wiped but didn't worry too much about it. I am just 6 weeks pregnant and had a little spotting after DH and I had sex on Sat and Sun.

But when I woke up this morning, I had bled through my pjs. Been bleeding ever since - bright red. Saw my MD this afternoon and she told me not to lose hope yet. Cervix is closed, which is good. They took blood and she's planning to call me in the AM with the results.

I'm freaking out because I can't imagine this isn't a miscarriage. The only thing is that I don't really have cramps. BUT I did take my temp this morning (still BBTing) and the temp had fallen. I don't want to give up hope but this doesn't look good, does it?

Has anyone had a fairly heavy bleed and not lost the baby? I know there's nothing I can do but wait for the call from the MD tomorrow but I'm losing my mind.

personally i've not experienced positive outcomes from bleeding during pregnancy but please dont give up hope, my sister and boss both bled heavy throughout the first term on multiple occasions and both have beautiful buddles of joy. and if your cervix is closed even better...im not sure what post it is in but one lady on here had a bad bleed as the result of a blod clot not to the baby, is it a possibility it could be that?? (thats akso what my sister had) x x x all the best x x x

I myself havent had any experience like this....touch wood as i think i would be exactly like you but have a read through the forum as there have been some positive stories with simlar circumstances and the baby has been fine, good luck huni xxx

I hadn't experienced any good with bleeding in pregnancy up until this one I had bright red bleeding filled 3 sannys really thought bubba was going but when inwent for my scan I was told I had an infection which was causing bleeding I have been taking meds and folic acid and I am hoping when i go to have another scan next week my bubba is still ok and the blood puddles in my uterus have gone! It could be a number of things please don't loose hope! X

With my last I had bright red period type bleeding for a solid four weeks, had to use pads permanently. Bleed was not from pregnancy, they did not know where it came from, however was nothing to do with why I lost, and was told some women just bleed thru pregnancy. Best wishes and goog luck xxx

I had really heavy bleeds of bright red blood at 7 weeks that lasted for a couple of days, but all turned out fine. My sister in law also bled on and off through out her entire pregnancy.
So please dont give up hope, fingers crossed all will be fine.

Stay positive. I had the same thing happen to me last week and I went to the doctor and they also said my cervix was still closed and they sent me for an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed babies heartbeat and proved that the baby was still growing. Bleeding was going by the next morning. Not quite sure what it was from...still waiting on the results. Let us know how you make out!

My cousin was the exact same way which was why she didn't know she was pregnant. Her daughter is a cute, healthy little ball of awesome.

i am close to seven weeks a just went through this, thur night i bled red blood all the way through fri afternoon and then it lightened and when away, then mon evening it started again and i bled until tue both times no pain at all.....had a scan and blood work done and baby was healthy and everything seemed to be fine...just a scare. I think now that i read about it it is alot more commen then it seems to be, stat wise only 20-30% end in mc. Keep you hopes up...

Hi there hunnie.

So sorry you are experiencing this. I had a big bleed on friday and posted the whole saga here. In a nutshell I had a scan at 5 wks and 6 days and everything was perfect even saw the heartbeat. I still have an area of bleeding inside but its outside the sac sooooooooo it may happen again. BUT the babies fine at the moment and thats all I can ask for. It is scary but try to stay positive. No bad cramps is a good sign. Just get to the EPU and demand a scan asap.
