We are still trying to agree upon names we both LOVE. I keep going back & forth with names!

My son is Jayden Christopher --

We are thinking Brooklyn Sophia if we have a baby girl. :happydance: Right now it's in our top 3 -- possibly in 1st place! Ha!

Last night i did an internet search of the name & found quite a few negative opinions -- which surprised me!!

What are your thoughts on this name?? Do you prefer the spelling Brooklyn or Brooklynn? Honest opinions greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :flower:

I like Brooklyn but im not sure about it paired with Sophia  , it seems too much of a modern name to be paired with a classic like Sophia iykwim . Its also quite a popular name for boys where im from in the UK at the moment. xx

I do not like Brooklyn as a personal name... But would like Brooke for a girls name.
Brooke Sophia sounds better to me or Sophia Brooke.

I think it sounds more masculine too tbh -but only because I know of two Brooklyn's - and both boys. Then again, lots of names are classed as unisex, and Brooke - feminine and Lynn- also feminine so can see how pretty it sounds for a girl too. But Brooke is lovely, as is Sophia

xx

For some reason i am not too fond of the name Brooke by itself -- which is silly since i know the name Brooklyn may end up being shortened to Brooke quite a bit!

My son's first name is modern & trendy (Jayden) and paired with a traditional 3 syllable middle name (Christopher), which is also a saint's name.

Brooklyn is also a trendy, modern name & paired with a traditional 3 syllable middle name (Sophia), which is also a saint's name.

So, i was thinking they kinda "go together"??

I only know one Brooklyn & it's a girl... but i knew that one of the spice girls has a son named Brooklyn, which i found odd. I never thought of it as a boy's name -- good to know. Thanks.

Hmmm I like your sons name and many people will use Brooklyn. I guess to me it sounds more like the borough than a personal name - though many people do use place names as personal names - it dosen't cross well to me. It is all a matter of prefernce. I think as long as the name does not place an undo burden on the child - which Brooklynn by no means does - then select a name you like:flower: Not everyone will like it but that is ok.

I absolutely LOVE the name Sophia it is so classic. If I were having a girl, Sophia would've been my #1 choice.

I like the name Brooklyn too, spelled just like that. I think the two names flow really well with each other. It sounds 100% like a girl name to me, btw! And if you do choose that name I'm sure people will call her Brooke for short! :flower:

i like the name Brooklynn but to me its sounds like a boys name, thats only because i have alot of friends with that name and they are boys.
i like the name brooke sophia

Hey I love it. Absolutely gorgeous name. I like it for a boy too. Plus i also love ur wee boys name- Jayden, its gorgeous :)

I think Brooklyn Sophia is a really lovely name. I don't particularly care for Brooke by itself either, but I really am fond of Brooklyn. Very nice choice. :hugs:

I'm personally not a fan of Brooklynn but I like Brooke! I like the name Sophia too but for some reason they don't seem to flow together for me. If you love it though go for it, it's your baby :) xx
