Brown af?? any advice?

My AF was due 17/08 and i thought it had arrived when i got brown spotting. However this carried on for another 4days. I used a tampon (sorry tmi) but there really was no need as it was just brown blood no red and I could have gotten away with using a liner. Only noticed it when i wiped. Could I still be in with a chance of BFP? not sure what this brown spotting means never had it before and im very regular with cycles.

I thought I O'd on 29th August, then 8days later had really bad cramps but no bleeding. I expected AF to show as usual on CD27 (Mon 12th Sept) but nothing! 3 BFN's and a further 8 days later I noticed a small amount of pinky blood on tissue when I wiped but not enough to need a tampon.
I thought AF had arrived albeit in an unusual way, but the next morning just pink/brown, dry/sticky discharge when I wiped but again not much. I used 1 light tampon that day & another the next but i needn't have bothered (i hate using liners) as it was just brown it was not saturated (sorry tmi)
So for 48 hrs I had this unusual discharge that hasn't been a flow - I have no clue what it means - an unusual 8 day late AF or something else?

I have now had nothing since yesterday but don't know if I'm out & should I move onto CD3 or do i wait to do another hpt?
I did another test this am but BFN!
Any ideas much appreciated, thanks Xx

Search on here for 'spotting' & u'll find a few threads where ladies experienced spotting when AF was due & later found out they were pg - don't want to get ur hope up but if I'd had my spotting when AF was due I'd feel more positive than I do now!

I had bloods done on tuesday to test thyroid if i was pregnant would it not have shown up? i had been spotting for three days when i had this done sooo confused thinking of testing tomorrow. I vomited this morning but not sure if it was a bug

If ur blood test was looking for pg hormone hcg then pg would show up but if they were just testing thread then I don't it would!

It was testing for FSH & LH so i'm not sure if they were testing for it i'm so dozy sometimes i should have asked

Hi, After 2 days of light spotting all has stopped, then another BFN!
After more despair I think I might've just found the answer to my problem on this thread on trying to conceive

Have a read! I started taking these supplements this past month, so maybe that's why things have changed (clutching at straws!)
So I'm stopping, seriously charting - I'm going to but CBFM, BBT thermometer (bargain) and we're going to do this! Good luck & hope to hear good news from u soon Xx

When I was 9dpo I had brown spotting...no idea what it was...I'm 14dpo and still waiting for AF, bfn's all week.

I was sitting on the bed and then felt a bit wet, the brown cm had suddenly become wet and dripping. No red blood, no cramping, but plenty of this brown stuff. So for now I have put in my menstrual cup and I'm just hoping for the best. Usually my luteal phase is 11-14 days and today is only 10dpo but I only count from red blood and usually get a bit of pink spotting the day before AF, so it could be. My temp rose by from 36.59 to 36.69 C this morning and normally my temps start to fall before AF. Been def nauseous and little twinges in uterus the past few days, so even if I do get AF I think I did get fertilized egg but maybe implantation has not been so good.

The red blood completly vanished! Replaced with clear ewcm!! What is going on?? Such a mystery. I cried for hours today, but now I am hopeful again.

Might be implantation bleeding and sometimes when you have that a bfp doesnt show up for about a week

i had the same brown period , didnt test as i didnt want to get hopes up.. felt nauseous last few weeks acne break out and sore bbs... woke 3 days ago with awful pain and started bleeding huge amounts, pretty sure i miscarried.
Just wanted to say brown af is very possibly a good sign!! x

hey ladies, it could be a good sign for some but for me i had it back in june i think and doc just said it is a period regardless of it being brown, after that i started having irregular periods and now i'm on progyluton to reglate my cycles again. lets hope it is good for you ladies,

I am spotting again today and not feeling so hot and nauseous anymore so I guess my period is just being sloooooow to come in. My temp came in lower this morning, but I can't trust it because I was sleeping on cold concrete whereas every other night I had been in a warm bed.
