Has anyone got this? We are thinking of moving to BT when we move & they are also bringing TV out wohooo! BUT I want to see what people who have the hub think first
my friends dp just bought one and had such trouble setting it up everytime he shut down his comp it uninstalled itself took 4 days on the phone to bt to sort it out
First positive answer NTL have gave us hell I'd rather be setting up for 4 days than 12 months of complete ****!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont do it wobbs go on moneysavingexpert.com they got wicked forums and stuff to tell you best deal read up on bt broadband before you go for it (wish i had) its over priced and if you ever want 2 get out of it you have to pay the FULL 18mth contract out i think the best deals sky where you get the tv and broadband for "26 a mth plus u need bt option 1 which is about 15 a mth. i hate bt soooooo much i wish id never gone with them the phones a complete waste of time on the hub and the hub itself its a nightmare to set up, also you can NEVER get anyone from this country to answer the phones when you need help and theyre really hard 2 understand sometimes
Had too many to count reported as faulty - they're poorly built with numourous problems. Post office appear to offer much better deals - the TV through BT affects your bandwidth big time - I watch using Channel4OD and iPlayer...
It's rubbish wireless, if you have a laptop you have to sit practically on top of it. We have sky now. Complete package - £34 phone calls - Free to other landlines 24/7 TV - All chanels (except sky sports and movies) Broadband - unlimited downloads. We couldn't believe it, but they came round day after we moved to install the tv and the phone and internet were up and running in about 10 - 12 days.
It's not unlimited - they have a fair usage policy and also a poor record of service - their service is not all it's cracked up to be!
OH said something about this yesterday, said it's a bit dodgy in that it downloads information or something. I'll get him to post.
Dont do it!!! weve had sooooo much trouble with ours, were trying to figure out a way to change providers but its a year min contract. were sick to the brim of it....and they charge waaaaay too much for their services!!! unless you like paying big hefty bills every month, taking 2weeks to set the net up due to their 'conditions' and the most complicated hub EVER and hours on end talking to foreigners who dont know how the hell to solve the problems...then go ahead. (my husband is a trained IT tech and he even struggled with it!!!) we were actually told by a BT engineer to get out if we can! he has bt and gets loads of problems....yet he works for them!!!!
I had BT, it was really slow, them promised us a speed of 4mg and we got less than 1 - it was like dial up!! Another reason that I didn't like it, is it backs up all your files from PC and stores it (was an advert on TV) we now have 20mg BB from Virgin. Super fast and set up like a dream!
