hello....i know i technically dont belong to this thread but i just wanted to pop in and say sumthing positive. sorry if my thread is a long

i'm 31 now...was 29 when i started trying...i had v irregular cycles all my life...sometimes as a teenager i used to skip entire 3 months! i sort of always knew that i would have fertility issue...so i was mentally prepared for it. I got married wen i was 27 (Feb 2009). Had decided to start trying in a years time so my first gynae put me on birth control pills..this regulated my cycle to a great extent...but after a year wen i decided to stop pills and start trying, i got diagnosed with a gall bladder stone and hence went back on pills for 6 - 8 months since i had to recover post op and could nt be pregnant then as it would cause problems

then in feb 2011, went back to same gynae to start trying seriously...got my LH and FSH and the results were LH 7.1 and FSH 5, prolactine 22.3 and testosterone 0.32...this was CD2 results on blood work...i'm putting in the details so that all u ladies can get a comparison chart. USG showed multiple tiny follicles....long story short, I was a classic pcos borderline case. DR told me to go on metformin for 6 months.I refused and went for a second opinion.

In March 2011, i went to the second gynae who said don't go for metformin. she did a manual examination and said i have a retroverted uterus so thats y it wud take more time anyway as compared to a normal couple. no medicines prescribed. try for 6 months and come back. during the 6 months i BBT charted, used OPK and could never figure out ovulation....so back i go after 6 months to report zero progress....she says try for 6 more months and come back...please note that i as 30 at the end of this 12 months!!! so i go back again in Jan 2012 and insist i want to try clomid and i want to be monitored for my cycles....so she refers me to DR no 3

so now in Jan 2012 on CD5, i go to DR no 3 who is a fertility specialist...he immediately prescribes clome 100 for 5 days (CD 5 - 9)and says to come bk on CD 10 for monitoring. he also says i do not have a retroverted uterus as per his scan!!! I'm putting down results of US monitoring for any1 who would like to compare

CD 10 - 14.5mm and 15 mm (2 follicles)
CD 12 - 19 MM (took LH strip test in clinic and it was -ve)...try sex on day 13 and 14
CD 15 - LH positive on test, no US, he gives me HCG shot 10000, try sex for next 3 days and come bk after 15 days

CD 19 - CD 26 - get period like cramping and decide that its not happening this cycle so on CD 26 have sex (a bit rough)

CD 27 - start bright red bleed for abt 1 hour...convinced period is on its way so call up doc for CD 28 appointment

CD 28 - do HPT before going to clinic and surprised that its +ve. Am dead sure its the HCG 10000 shot which is causing the positive

CD 28 - go to clinic. DR does US. bleeding has stopped and periods not started....i mention the +ve HPT and he insists i do it again in clinic...its +ve again...he sends me off for the HCG blood test for pregnancy

CD 29 - results in...OMG...its +ve...i'm pregnant:happydance


since i had a slight bleed and i did not tell doc it was due to sex, he puts me on HCG 5000 shots for every 3 alternate days for a 3 week time frame so as to prevent any miscarriage

at week 5 he tests for Heart beat and its not there so he increases frequency of HCG shots. at week 6 US, there is a HB.....no bleeding


as you can see from my signature in now 17 weeks + 3 days....waiting for my anomaly scan in week 20



so moot point.....clomid does work first cycle and miracles do happen


i know this is a very very very long story....but i hope it gives u ladies hope and cheer

one more thing i have been also prescribed progynova for good endometrium linning to form attachment to egg from CD8-16.. anyone else..

I was on progynova myself....prescribed by dr due to thinness of endometrium lining

I have just now got my Complete Blood Count.. which is in normal range.. FSH and LH report will be given tomorrow.. just 15mins before i gave blood sample..

wow dear that's great. finally that anemia is out. i hope you have good hb levels. do inform about hormonal test report.

wow 13.4 is perfect hb for a healthy women. my hb is exactly the same. so don't worry about anemia. you are not atall anemic...
now the hormones should come perfect... and it will so good luck..

bumpyride, plz dont mind ur hcg shot was 1000 or 10000... m confused

it was 10000...it is said that it leaves ur system in half everyday so it should be out of your system by 15 days(i'm not 2 sure but i read this on the internet)....1000 is too less a dose i think

eg: day 1 - 10000
day 2 - 5000
day 3 - 2500
so on till day 15 it becomes 0.61

thats y Dr told to test after 15 days...hope this helps...the exact name of the 5000 dose was Hucog 5000....as u can see i'm from India so thats the exact name of the injection which is on the box

yes you can. clomid gives is mature follies and hcg acts on follies to ensure that they release the egg. so you can defo ask for one.

After crying for two nights and confusing my husband about why I am sad - I decided to take the Clomid this cycle. I have to go for my first monitoring appointment (u/s and bw) next week on Wednesday. I'm excited for that.

But, also nervous that they will say "You have eight eggs about to be released".

Is anyone telling their family (moms, sisters?) about taking Clomid? I'm keeping it a secret, I don't want to hear their opinions.. or want my personal business spread to extended family or their friends.

piya! My RE told me to try Clomid for the first time too. Only 25mg though. I am scared!!

clomid does wonder.. if one has no issues even small dose help.. dont worry..

hey i met a new gyne very efficient and old.. he was so good.. that all my basic queries got answered.. he took note of my brown cloty AF, short period 2day heavy then spotting for 2 day, and irreguar cycle and tender breast.. he said untill all these get corrected chances of pregnancy will decrease... so he will start treatment after my hubby semen analysis today and my clinical examination.. I went to him after recommended by lots of patients with failed ivf.. and iui's.... he told me to wait for 2 days then start clomid.. on cd5.. I ll follow him now.. My heart says he will be able to help me..
wonder our deal was no money involved.. just treating each other..
I m hopeful very much now...

we will not be telling anyone about clomid or medical assistance in ttc.. its not needed.. remember its a trial procedure..and untill we succeed do we announce people in how many exams we had appeared prior to success..
declaring our ttc misery will give tensions to them too..and unnecessary queries on every doc appointments..
