Holy Big Follies! I feel so inadequate with my 1.5,1.4,0.8!

Hi all just a quick update - I went back for another scan yesterday to check on the progress of the 2 follies and they were both at 20.5mm...my gynae described them as 'beauties'!! so he gave me a trigger shot and said we should bd today. Im feeling quite optimistic but dont want to get my hopes up...

Does clomid really delay ovulation? My clinic told me to use opk's on Day 11, 12, 13. I'm going back in on Day 14 if I haven't had a + opk by then.

stephanie, i too agree as i will start using opk from day 14,as clomid will delay ovulation...

yes on clomid people mostly get positive opk by 15-17cd..delayed by 1-2 days of their normal ovulation if HCG is not given to them

hey m blotting since morning. stomach feels full. burps like hell..
morning i had cramps in my leg... same as i have in af... having back ache too.. tiered super sleepy. i don't know why is it so???? hope its a good sign and turns into a bfp.
m just 1 dpo today many days to go can't wait...

Shona Im with you!! I am 1 DPO and officially in the 2ww! I also am having strange pains - I was having light cramping and felt quite bloated from CD14 and then last night...wow - had really awful cramping pains across my lower abdomen - it actually woke me up it was so painful! I called my doctor today and said it was normal for some women to get ovulation pains and it was due to the ovaries stretching and perhaps blood being absorbed into your abdominal wall after the egg had ruptured the follie...

So in a few days we will all be in the 2ww together girls...am keeping my FXd we all get our bfps this month and are bump buddies!!!

hello dear shona and SG lady, what u r experiencing now are high HCG symptoms after the hcg shot.. I had them, its just similiar to pregnancy as same hormone will rise after implantation.. so dont worry.. they will pass in five days and will reappear at 10dpo..after implantation.. fingers crossed and lots of babydust to you both...

hey i wana tell you one thing please check ur HCG level by cheap hpts.. so that when ur hcg shot goes away u will be able to assess and tell exactly.. then if again it starts reappearing as faint lines then it will definitely be BFPs..and u both need not to remain in confusion..whether its hcg shot or our hope.. positive HPT/BFP..

well my cramps stopped but my back is still hurting. burps stopped a bit. and now m feeling little good but fullness of stomach still persist. still very very sleepy...
my bbs hurt since cd 9 but now its unbearable( hcg).... grrrrrrrr.
i fell bloated and tiered every month on 1dpo.
some thing new was the leg cramps????
why are those???
anyway do update about symptoms everyone.

follicle 19mm and endo 7.8
sonographist said i m ready to ovulate on own. by monday it will be surely. m doing temping now.. no cm till now .. i bd yesterday.. but will bd tomorrow.. not tonight..
one day gap.. then on saturday, and sunday, monday.. 3 days at stretch.. will this be ok.
my gyne told not to take hcg shot as my endo will get thicken with each passing day.. and it will be helpful to implantation..

I had my CD 10 bloodwork done.. and my estradiol level was only 244. The nurse said that they typically like to see it above 300 on CD10.

She did say that when I came in on CD 3, my estradiol was at 27 and that this was a big improvement over 7 days, but "not quite what we want"..

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? Don't they know that *now* is not the time to be vague about results?

(and I got a parking ticket ... in record time of 5 minutes. *le sigh*)


**Think I am going to ask this in the open too.. Curious to see what other Clomid groupies say..**
Anyone know or have what their levels were?

You're so lucky you got cd 12 scans. My clinic isn't seeing me until cd 14 (sunday). I will be sure to ask how think my endo is.. they didn't tell me last time. If I were you, I would bd Sunday,Monday,Tuesday just in case you ov a little late on Monday.

Yes, I quoted mine in cm. I have another scan on cd14 (sunday).. I hope and pray that my follicles are nice and big! I am using OPKs and they have all been negative so far.

I've been feeling a little bloated lately.. Not sure if this is all in my head or not.

hi, i have been prescribed estradiol tabs (progynova) last month for 21 days, it helps in uterus growth and proper lining of endometrium.. and this month for 1 week from cd8-cd15, and my lining is improved.. my estradiol level was not checked as they presumed from my earlier sonoraphy that my lining was not proper so gave me the same..
I know just this much about estradiol.. it regulates lining of our uterus..and help in implantation..ur usg report about lining around will decide if u require estradoil supplemets .. good luck..

At the end of the luteal phase, estradiol levels drop to their menstrual levels unless there is a pregnancy.

Female Hormone Levels


Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Day 3 3-20 mIU/ml FSH is often used as a gauge of ovarian reserve. In general, under 6 is excellent, 6-9 is good, 9-10 fair, 10-13 diminished reserve, 13+ very hard to stimulate. In PCOS testing, the LH:FSH ratio may be used in the diagnosis. The ratio is usually close to 1:1, but if the LH is higher, it is one possible indication of PCOS.

Estradiol (E2) Day 3 25-75 pg/ml Levels on the lower end tend to be better for stimulating. Abnormally high levels on day 3 may indicate existence of a functional cyst or diminished ovarian reserve.

Estradiol (E2) Day 4-5 of meds 100+ pg/ml or 2x Day 3 There are no charts showing E2 levels during stimulation since there is a wide variation depending on how many follicles are being produced and their size. Most doctors will consider any increase in E2 a positive sign, but others use a formula of either 100 pg/ml after 4 days of stims, or a doubling in E2 from the level taken on cycle day 3.

Estradiol (E2) Surge/hCG day 200 + pg/ml The levels should be 200-600 per mature (18 mm) follicle. These levels are sometimes lower in overweight women.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Day 3 < 7 mIU/ml A normal LH level is similar to FSH. An LH that is higher than FSH is one indication of PCOS.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Surge Day > 20 mIU/ml The LH surge leads to ovulation within 48 hours.

Prolactin Day 3 < 24 ng/ml Increased prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation. They may also indicate further testing (MRI) should be done to check for a pituitary tumor. Some women with PCOS also have hyperprolactinemia.

Progesterone (P4) Day 3 < 1.5 ng/ml Often called the follicular phase level. An elevated level may indicate a lower pregnancy rate. If low progesterone levels are an issue for you, consider taking a natural fertility supplement like FertilAid for Women.

Progesterone (P4) 7 dpo > 15 ng/ml A progesterone test is done to confirm ovulation. When a follicle releases its egg, it becomes what is called a corpus luteum and produces progesterone. A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy. Some say the test may be more accurate if done first thing in the morning after fasting.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Day 3 .4-4 uIU/ml Mid-range normal in most labs is about 1.7. A high level of TSH combined with a low or normal T4 level generally indicates hypothyroidism, which can have an effect on fertility.

Free Triiodothyronine (T3) Day 3 1.4-4.4 pg/ml Sometimes the diseased thyroid gland will start producing very high levels of T3 but still produce normal levels of T4. Therefore measurement of both hormones provides an even more accurate evaluation of thyroid function.

Free Thyroxine (T4) Day 3 .8-2 ng/dl A low level may indicate a diseased thyroid gland or may indicate a non- functioning pituitary gland which is not stimulating the thyroid to produce T4. If the T4 is low and the TSH is normal, that is more likely to indicate a problem with the pituitary.

Total Testosterone Day 3 6-86 ng/dl Testosterone is secreted from the adrenal gland and the ovaries. Most would consider a level above 50 to be somewhat elevated.

Free Testosterone Day 3 .7-3.6 pg/ml

Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEAS) Day 3 35-430 ug/dl An elevated DHEAS level may be improved through use of dexamethasone, prednisone, or insulin-sensiting medications.

Androstenedione Day 3 .7-3.1 ng/ml

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) Day 3 18-114 nmol/l Increased androgen production often leads to lower SHBG

17 Hydroxyprogesterone Day 3 20-100 ng/dl Mid-cycle peak would be 100-250 ng/dl, luteal phase 100-500 ng/dl

Fasting Insulin 8-16 hours fasting < 30 mIU/ml The normal range here doesn't give all the information. A fasting insulin of 10-13 generally indicates some insulin resistance, and levels above 13 indicate greater insulin resistance

even if meds were not given then its in normal range..as intercycle variation is too much in estradiol level depending on follicle size and numbers.. so dont worry..

and my opk got faint line first time ever.. I will be dependant on it for 5 days.. as on Saturday and Sunday its weekend off for my clinician.. So i will go on monday morning for last scan if i hadnt got positive 2 darkest lines by then... babydust to all...

well m 2dpo... breast pain, bloating, and burps decreased today by 75%. so i think hcg is decreasing so its effects too.

I was just on Clomid, 100mg days 3-7. They said my starting level of E2 (estradiol) was fine.. I am just concerned that I am not "where we like to see it" on CD 10 - as the nurse said. I don't get to go in for an u/s until I have a + OPK!!! Who knows when that will be!
