Hi ladies have any of you started buying baby things although it is very early stages of your pregnancy??

I have as I went to asda today and bought, bibs, vests, sleepsuits, sleeping bag,and a blanket all or £25, Then on amazon tonight I bought a phillips avent electric steam sterilliser for £20 which is a fantastic deal as the cheapest I have seen them is £35.

Anyways wishing you all a very H&H 9months :baby:

I haven't bought anything yet as im too scared too! I will be buying something tomorrow though after I have my 1st scan if everything is ok. Im very nervous and excited!

I had a MC 10 years ago when with my ex at 5 weeks so i dont want to tempt fate, especially with it being our first. Doesnt stop us looking tho ^_^

I've been looking but haven't bought anything yet. I got to 12 weeks last time and the baby had died at 9 weeks. If i have another mc i don't want baby things in the house and it would make me even sadder.

I'm going to wait until 12 weeks when the risks are low.

i started buying things two years ago before we even started trying :D go with what you want and dont let anyone tell you youre too early or too anything!

I have to admit I also have my fears but really try hard just to focus on the happy event itself and put my fears to the side, I wont be buying any big items until later in pregnancy and even then will leave them at one of our parents houses, guess I am also a little supersticious lol

I brought bottles and a steriliser today from Tescos, as they were on offer - Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature. Also have got a couple of bodysuits from Debenhams.

I have had my 12 week scan so I am hoping now that I am safe enough to buy things!

It is such a wonderful feeling :D

im not buying anything till after christmas when ill be over 20 weeks, one reason b/c of m/c the other because we have a holiday planned to australia and saving for that

I have to say actually that it's just because of my history that i don't want to buy things.

However, it is nice to just enjoy being pregnant while you are and if you want to buy things then buy them!

Everyone's got their own superstitions and reasons :)

Today I bought a pack of onesies and some socks. My reasoning is that I know we're never going to have enough socks and onesies. So why not go ahead and buy them now instead of just buying everything all at once later? I'm a big fan of avoiding sticker shock. I'm trying not to buy too much, but I also feel like buying things now is a good way for me to stay positive about the pregnancy.

I haven't yet, but I've been window shopping LOL. Since I've only known since yesterday I figured I should wait until my blood test confirms it. :)

I do want to start buying early because I need to spread the cost out. I am going to start with anything that the gender isn't important for, and save my big shopping for after the gender scan.

Decisions...decisions! After having a m/c in June I am soooo scared to start buying. But like others have mentioned I kinda want to in order to get things when they are on sale. My parents are buying our double stroller, so I am keeping my eyes on Craigslist for things I know I want. If I happen to see them come on there (like the swing I want, etc.) then I may buy now if the price is right. For clothes I will def. wait until gender scan.

Everyone has their own superstitions but for me, I say why not?!? If I see something really cute Ill get it. I've bought one thing so far, a onsie and left it on my DH's dresser that says 'Team Dad'. When he saw it he was so thrilled he teared up! Its his first (my third). He is sooo excited!!!! :happydance:

We bought our Ergo carrier because it was a great deal on craigslist--barely used (maybe twice), never washed--pretty well brand new for $80, I've also purchased a few outfits (some even before we were TTC!) but not too much. Otherwise we've received a few gifts from friends (cute clothes that are gender neutral) and we have a TON of clothes because of friends that have had kids and passed on to us knowing we were planning to soon. We are now almost 13 weeks, had scan at 12+1...I too am keeping my eyes on craigslist for the big items we want....and I have lots of necessities coming soon from friends too.

I've bought a few baby outfits so far but I'm letting my daughter use them for her baby dolls for now to be on the safe side.

I have bought a few onsies from the Gap that say I love daddy..(that's actually how I told my husband....left it on his pillow) cute socks, shoes, 2 layettes sets and a sweat suit. LOL....I know, don't even know the sex yet but all the stuff is unisex except the shoes but they were a good deal.
I like to be positive even though I have had a MC....it's a personal choice.
