I have read that you should nurse LO during their vaccines for this reason! Has anyone tried?

doesn't surprise me! if all else fails when lo goes nuts, give them a boob and they calm down :p

Yes! I am doing a presentation on BF this week and will be sure to add this !

My mw asked me to bf ds when she did his heel prick test as she found babies cried less

When LO was 3 weeks old we had to go to the hospital to get a blood test done to check out his prolonged jaundice. The doctor who took the blood told me to BF him whilst she took the blood (from a vein in his hand so more painful than the heel prick & 3 lots were taken) so he wouldn't feel it. I was dubious but he honestly didn't even flinch, nevermind cry. It's magic!

My son had a blood test around the same time for the same reason and it did help to feed him. The first attempt in his left hand made him cry, but he barely flinched during them getting blood out his right hand. With his jabs however, he was too upset to feed throughout. And whilst feeding after poor baby kept stopping and sobbing :( But was fine after a few sobs.

I feed Alex through his echocardiagrams as it helps him stay still and calm. It's just finding the right position with all those wires! :haha:
