Is it ok to give my LO some Calpol now and again to help with her teething pain? I feel bad giving it to her as we've made it 7 and a half months without giving her any sort of drugs.

I've tried Ashton & Parsons powder and an Amber anklet but these haven't worked. She's getting so upset and constantly pulling at her ears. She's really struggling to sleep too. I've given her a bit of Calpol this afternoon and she's finally managed to drop off. I just feel so bad giving it to her though.

don't feel bad hun. You've tried other things and by giving a bit of calpol now and then to relieve her pain you're just doing what a mummy should do... Making it better! Sure don't give it all the time but when she is clearly suffering and you've tried other things then i don't see why its a prob. I have given my lo calpol a few times when i've felt he's suffering. Jx

I know how you feel! We've made it to 7 months and 6 cut teeth but over the weekend LO was really bad with her teeth. I gave her some twice yesterday and it really helped her sleep. I'm not one for giving medicine for everything but like you we have tried everything! Powders, gel and she is wearing a necklace too!! if she needs some tonight (she actually cried for an hour and a half last night) then I'll give her some again.
It must just take the edge off the pain and calms her down. To me that's a good thing x

Of course it's ok. Don't feel guilty, it's not like you're using it at the drop of a hat :hugs:. I'm the same and have used it on a handful of occasions when I've felt Louis really needed it. He's teething really badly too atm and anbesol wasn't cutting it last night. We gave him some calpol and he managed to calm down and stop pulling at his mouth x

That's what it's there for hun, as long as LO feels better it's worth it surely? :flower: xx

Aww hun don't feel bad I 2 tried all u said the amber done bugger all and the a&p powders jst seem 2 take his mind off it 4 a few seconds. The way I see it is if I had bad tooth ache I'd go take a pain killer so yeah I give junior it when he's having a real hard time with it xx

I always think if I had a headache or period pain or something I would want to take something to make myself feel better so the same goes for the children. I use calpol for teething and it really helps. At the moment my 20 month old is cutting her back molars and has been so poorly with it but when she has sone calpol it really perks her up. As long as you're not using it every five minutes I think it is a great pain reliever.

My Lo is cutting his first 2 teeth at the same time and calpol is the only thing that seems to be helping. ive just been giving him a half dose to see if that helps initially. I thin he ended up having maybe 5 lots over 3 days in the end, but he seems to be in a lot less pain today so he hasn't had any

I really don't think u should beat yourself up about it if it is helping ur Lo, its not like u are giving it for no reason. xxx
